I was a bit freaked out the first time I took the synarel, so you are 'not alone'. lol. I am on holidays at the moment, so I have been taking it at 9am, and 9pm (roughly, the nurse said if it was a little late sometimes it didn't matter that much...) I am not asthmatic, but it is nothing like taking ventolin (which I have taken). If you've never taken a nasal spray then I can't explain what it will be like. It's okay, just like snorting up a tiny bit of water... so it feels weird.. but it's the taste 5 minutes later down the back of your throat that's weird.
I was also told that if I sneeze in the first 5 - 10 minute I need to do it again - I feel like sneezing sometimes, but I hold it off but drinking lots of water (I think OJ would be fine!!) and just 'not letting myself' sneeze. lol... somehow! TBH the nurses never said anything about drinking or not drinking, I assume it's okay! Hopefully, or else this has all been a waste!!!

I think you should be able to take it to work with you, without it being an issue. Just leave it in the box, upright in your bag - leave it in the car if it's not too hot, then just go out to the car... have a snort... and come back to work. be a bit like you are a secret druggie! (..... just realised you probably catch the train or something anyway.... so maybe ignore me.....)
as long as it is kept upright, and at room temperature you should be fine. I was told not to shake it up or anything, but I think if you just keep it in the corner of your handbag you should be fine.

    I'm glad it helped

    Hi girls,

Well I finally got 5 minutes to sit down and write some persies (and get my head around everything happening in here hahaha!)

N2L - Yay for PUPO!!!! What an awesome result from your stim! You must be so happy, ive got everything crossed for your little embies!!!!

Mia - Haha I know what you mean about feeling like a pharmacy. When DH and I went to Europe we took my 'drug box' around to my mum and dads rather than putting in storage, I went around the other day and saw it and remembered how much I was taking last time arrrgggghhhh!!!! My FS also said def dont my your Synarel in the fridge, its one of the biggest no no's

Vic - Yay your upcoming blood test! How is the TWW going for you? Fingers crossed you are finding things to keep you busy in the mean time xxx

Keta - You stay right where you are!!! We love having you in here with us! Just because its not IVF doesnt mean it isnt assisted conception and ....bloody hard!!!!

Jane - Im glad the injections arent going to bad for you! I remember the first time I gave myself a jab, I couldnt believe how easy it was!

Lisey T - Hahaha I love that you are making DH bring everything to you so you can sleep in, def something I would do!

Miss B - Hope the needles are going ok for you honey! Getting closer and closer to egg pick up, woo hoo!

My Turn - You deserve some very big 's for that mammoth post!!!! Yay for AF arriving, hahaha never did we ever think we would be saying that!!!! I know what you mean about having your US with AF, its not a nice feeling is it. I have to have an US on day 6 of my cycle so I will still probably have a little bit hanging around

Sorry if ive missed anyone but none the less!

AFM - What a horrid day at work! We had a line out the door most of the day and it was manic, but on the upside I made lots of $$$'s and I work on commission so thats always a good thing! DH flew back to work today, he was meant to go on Thursday but because of the cyclone he couldnt fly up there so he went today instead. He got up there tonight and the phone tower is down because of the cyclone and the pay phone only accepts phone cards and ......yep you guessed it, the shop has sold out of phone cards. grrrr Oh well at least he will be back in 5 nights. Nothing else exciting to report really, just wishing AF would hurry up!!!! Also I have quite a few books on IVF, not really information books but more novels on personal experiences, I am happy to lend them to anyone who would like to ready them, the only catch is I would like them back at some point as I have few friends IRL going through IVF shortly and I would like to lend them to her aswell. I have one that is about 15 short stories of personal experiences in one book, another is a IVF from a father to be's view, and another one is called waiting for Daisy.

Hope everyone is having a fab Saturday night, mine has been eating pizza, checking BB and watching National Lampoons Vacation hahahaha.

am actually a bit embarrased by the post........ who the heck is ever going to read it! I reckon if everyone just jumps to their own name as a minimum that may be the best I should expect! I really need to get more succinct in my answers!!! But thanks

ps... we had home made pizza in front of the Tv as well - great minds!

    Hi Ladies
Just wondering if I could get some advice, we did a full stim ICSI cycle back in August 2008 after a failed attempt in the July. We were lucky enough to get 5 5day embryos thanks to my PCOS and a BFP that was our almost 3 year old DS. We now want another child but I have no idea how FET works in a woman like myself with no cycle (im always at baseline)...im assuming it would be a low dose stim cycle after an articficially induced AF but i could be wrong and what exactly does that mean anyway? My fingers are crossed for all you ladies new to the IVF journey, i remember sitting here 4 years ago thinking anyone who wanted more than one child was just plain greedy and those with baby on board signs were boasting but im pretty sure that was the hormones speaking! Just so you dont feel alone im also here in Perth, watching TV and on BB on a saturday night.

    Waiting for EPU/O

    Liseyt - CD3
    Kerbear - CD4
    Mia01 - CD6
    Miss.B - CD6
    Keta - CD5 BT 18.01.11
    Myturn - CD2

    Hanging out in the TWW

    vic261 - CD22 5 days post transfer 1 x day 3 embryo BT 25.01.12
    N2L - CD 20 1 day post transfer 2 x day 3 embryo BT 27.01.12
    Amy_jellybean 22.01.12

I actually count my CD1 when I started my Estrogen as thats when my FS does. AF is acutally a few days before that and I got tricked by that last time, thinking I was further ahead than I actually was. Only because I am doing a medicated FET, otherwise I guess CD for most people is the first day of their AF. In regards to that I have been told not to count it as CD 1 if it comes after lunchtime. The next day of full flow is counted. My apologies if I am leading you astray, thats just what I have been told and what works for me with lining me up since I dont ovulate on my own and havn't for six months.

Gosh, its so busy in here!!!

I will be back later for persies, but I hope I have the list right now. Again, feel free to let me know to update/ correct anything.

Bee27 - I am currently doing an FET. I had to wait for AF then had to take Estrogen tablets (1 x 3 a day) to thicken up my lining, have a scan, make sure its over 8mm and then they just popped it back in. Its so much easier then a stim cycle. Since my AF is unpredicatable, I have taken Ralovera to induce AF. Again they are tablets for 5 days, you stop them, and about 3 days later AF shows up. Hope that helps.

Wow so much is happening in here. A sign of a great supportive community. Thanks girls, I'm really appreciating this thread. Keeping me sane.

Thanks heaps for the list Vic. Can you add me too sweet. I have no idea what CD it is for me cause I've been on Zoladex for several months and so it is also been months since I've had AF. Today is day three of gonal-f injections. I'm having ICSI. First blood test tomorrow morning to see how I've been responding to the meds and first ultrascan on fri (20th). So am guess EPU will be at the end of Jan or early Feb.

    Hi ladies,

Geez, it's been so busy in here I'm struggling to keep up with all you chatterboxes! hahahahahaha Just kidding, I love this thread

Myturn, what an epic post! haha. Fantastic effort hun, I did read all of it! I do read all posts, I find them so informative and often they make me laugh, and I really need a laugh most days! Thanks for the list of side effects hun, so far I have tenderness in the belly, extra discharge & I've had a monster of a headache. And yay for AF arriving! Don't worry about the bleeding and u/s, they have seen it all before and too bad if they need to see what's going on in there when AF is here.
Fingers ad toes crossed all is going to plan so far!

Kerbear, men don't really understand what we have to go through in IVF as all they have to do is produce a few swimmers (in my DF's case they have to extract them with a big fat needle, but hey, what to do! lol). I actually show him how I do my injections and he just cringes. He tells him not to remind him of the big fat needle heading his way soon, bahahahahaha.

Amy, hurry up AF!!!! Hope it's here soon for you so you can get the ball rolling. The wait is so hard!

Bee, welcome to our group! I've had a FET but in a natural cycle, so I'm not sure what you'll have to do if you don't have one, sorry hun! Wishing you all the best with it all. I, like you, sometimes feel greedy too for having a child already, but my goal is to give him a sibling before my time runs out. And it's running out quickly!

Vic, how are you feeling hun? I hope your 2WW is flying by

N2L, cramps are good! Usually it's a sign the embie/s is/are attaching well. Rest up hun!

AFM, I was dying last night, my head was about to fall off..... Normally nuforen plus does the trick but I can't take it with IVF so I took 2 panadine forte and after an hour it went away. I've never had it that bad before, and I do get headaches/migranes regularly but not that bad. So CD7 today, can't wait till Tuesday to see what is happening in there.

Hi Mia, Jane, Keta, liseyt and anyone I might have missed. I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!

    Chat soon,

Hi Bee27 - welcome to our world! (or welcome back as the case may be!) - I don't know the answer to your question, but what you have said sounds about right.... seems a well educated guess to me

Vic261 - nice work at keeping track of it all for us - I'm impressed - cause I can't keep track! Hope you're feeling well and it's all sticking nicely! FX!

N2L - hope you are resting up, know that we are all sending sticky vibes your way!! and hope the cramping settles down soon xxx

Miss B - aww shucks... and thanks, to everyone, who reads my very long posts! I certainly read everyones as well, but would totally understand if people just wanted to cut to the chase! I hate migranes - hope you feel better soon - if I get a bad one, I can't even open my eyes, and just have to sleep and usually I take mersyndol or nurofen - but I've been trying not to much - I'm already a walking pharmacy (aren'y we all)! I have been a bit headachy the last three days, was wondering whether the synarel was finally causing some side effects - now that I'm not on the pill... it is possible.... well... that's what I'm going to blame anyway!

Kerbear - hope you are asleep and resting up - I found the meds knocked me around a bit. It's emotional even without them, and then stick in the hormones and your body is shouting at you all the time! My best friend didn't understand that, when the first cycle didn't work, just thought it was me being emotional - but it was more than that. your whole body is on overdrive - so allow yourself to feel crap and sooky - but remember to enjoy the good things to xxx

and a big to mia, liseyt, keta, jane, amy_jellybean and anyone else who may be stalking

AFM.... as mentioned feeling a bit headachy - but helped DH pull out the kitchen today, lots of stress relief with the sledge hammer I am looking forward to stabbing - feel like I've been talking about this US and the jabs for weeks! sorry if I am repeating myself... should be something new for me to report tomorrow lol

    until then...... sayonara xxx

Sounds like most of us need that panadol lately! lol. I got another migrane this afternoon but took one panadine forte and am feeling better. Going to bed now and hopefully I'll wake up headache free tomorrow. Getting rather sick of them lately

Hope your headaches get better myturn & kerbear And myturn, don't worry hun, you'll soon turn into a pincushion like the rest of us, haha.

Thanks lovely ladies, just a quick question before I go to sleep, is it normally to feel completely drained all the time? I keep thinking I have only just started all these drugs surely it's not them doing this to me but maybe its my body's way of telling me I need rest, I just feel buggered all day.
Night all sleep well, stickyvibes and successful jabbing to everyone ;-)

I don't recall how tired I was - but I remember feeling very overwhelmed, and on edge - it was when i first joined BB, cause I was obsessed every day - so maybe your physcial reaction is a stress reaction as well..?? I found the side effects of the crinone progesterone made me more tired than the puregon. But if you are headachy then tiredness would come with that - your body will come to terms with it, so just go with the flow and you will be fine
