I was a bit freaked out the first time I took the synarel, so you are 'not alone'. lol. I am on holidays at the moment, so I have been taking it at 9am, and 9pm (roughly, the nurse said if it was a little late sometimes it didn't matter that much...) I am not asthmatic, but it is nothing like taking ventolin (which I have taken). If you've never taken a nasal spray then I can't explain what it will be like. It's okay, just like snorting up a tiny bit of water... so it feels weird.. but it's the taste 5 minutes later down the back of your throat that's weird.
I was also told that if I sneeze in the first 5 - 10 minute I need to do it again - I feel like sneezing sometimes, but I hold it off but drinking lots of water (I think OJ would be fine!!) and just 'not letting myself' sneeze. lol... somehow! TBH the nurses never said anything about drinking or not drinking, I assume it's okay! Hopefully, or else this has all been a waste!!!
I think you should be able to take it to work with you, without it being an issue. Just leave it in the box, upright in your bag - leave it in the car if it's not too hot, then just go out to the car... have a snort... and come back to work. be a bit like you are a secret druggie! (..... just realised you probably catch the train or something anyway.... so maybe ignore me.....)
as long as it is kept upright, and at room temperature you should be fine. I was told not to shake it up or anything, but I think if you just keep it in the corner of your handbag you should be fine.
