    Morning Ladies,

Hope you are all well and coming up to O time. Firstly I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for there input into cervix checking. I have done a fair bit of research into it now and have been checking my cervix for about 6 days now, still not sure what I am feeling but they say this is normal and I will learn when time goes on.

Hey Bec, bummer to hear about the side effects of Clomid for you this month, no fun at all. I was lucky enough just to have the hot flushes again. Good luck coming up to O time this month.

Tammara, Mez, Porsche, hope all is going well in the land of UTD.

Clamgee, totally know what you mean about hard to stay positive when everyone else is getting preggas! Chin up, hopefully this is the month for all of us. Yes we are also DTD everyday and have struggled a little over the weekend (will explain further down). It’s hard work when you both work FT and long hours and you poor things having a cold also? Not fun at all. Sorry I haven’t really noticed feeling nauseous after Clomid, hope that has all cleared up for you know.

Hey Mez, what’s maybe baby? I haven’t heard of that before. I am using OPK’s, Mucus observations, temps, and fertility friend but still seem to get a little confused when it comes to O time so thought I would try something else to add t the concoction.

AFM, well as I said DH and I were going to try and DTD every day from end of Clomid until I O, however (and does anyone else have the same/or similar issue) whilst DH can always get it up (TMI I know & I’m sorry) he sometimes finds it hard to come, with all the pressure and all. Does anyone else DH have this issue? So as a result we missed out on Fri & Sat, bummer cos I think I O’d on Friday. Another question…I have posted my fertility friend into my signature if anyone would like to have a look at it. My temp has gone up 3 days in a row now but I have had no other signs of O. No CM, no +OPK’s, totally confused now.

Hope everyone else is well and DTD lots to make that egg become a baby. GL to all.

    Ovulation kits and basal thermometers

    Hi all
A cycle is such a long wait. isn't it? Even longer than waiting for payday!
I'm looking for info on Basal thermometers and ovulation kits. I have PCOS - should I use any of these - or would my body trick them into believing i'm ovulating?
    Thanks for the advice!
Good luck to all this month!

    Hi Claudette,

I take my temp every day and use OPK's. Until this month I have always found them very useful. I have heard that Clomid can interfere with them, particularly with the OPK's but have not experienced it myself (until maybe now). I think go for it though, all the help we can get the better.

    Hi ladies

Keli - maybe baby is a little microscope thing that you spit on and depending on the shapes that form within your saliva indicates whether you are about to O or not. To be honest, I didn't find maybe baby the most reliable out of my 'tool kit' and much preferred the OPKs I bought off ebay - much cheaper too as maybe baby is about $80 from the chemist.

And I so hear you about DH not being able to DTD when it counts the most. I never really wrote about it here, but since you've brought this topic up.... (tune out if you don't want TMI!) DH and I had lots of problems where he couldn't even get it up, not that he has problems any other time - only when it really mattered. It turned into a vicious cycle because he would beat himself up about it and get stressed, inevitably blame it on work occupying his mind or something I did (once I was breathing too heavily!!!) and then I'd be in tears. So there were quite a few cycles we missed DTD just before O because he couldn't perform. We had lots of deep and meaningfuls to try and resolve it, but cycle after cycle we'd have the same problem and it seemed like DTD at that time was mechanical and loveless. It was a chore that both of us kind of dreaded each month! So I don't know whether it was coincidence or not, but for the cycle we conceived, I had bought a Karma Sutra book to help inspire us (one with articles, not just the pictures!) and we gave massages, set the scene with candles etc and took it very slow. Anyway, for that cycle we 'made love' and now we're UTD (I actually think it had more to do with the laparoscopy and clomid, but it's nice to think the karma sutra helped as well!)

I guess we sometimes forget that the TTC journey can be just as hard and stressful for our partners and unlike us girls, they often don't have anyone to talk to about these things (or are too embarrassed to talk).

Good luck to the girls coming up to O time.

Oh Mez, Phew! Thanks so much for the honest reply, I know how much courage that must have taken as it has taken me months to post anything about this also. Glad to know we’re never along (no matter how bizarre our issue may be). Yes I find the same thing, when we are both relaxed and taking it slowly then DTD comes so much easier, but when we’re both stressed and know that performing is very important that’s when the brick wall goes up. Thanks for being so open and sharing this with me. Might have to have a look into the Karma sutra, whatever works I say.

As for maybe baby I think I will just stick with what I’m doing, it’s confusing enough sometimes, and yeah $80 is a bit pricy too, especially if you’re not too sure that it even helped.

On a separate note, did you say you are teaching Pre-natal yoga in Glen Waverly?
