    One tube....help!

4 years of trying and just had an op. to remove a damaged tube.....

This is the first month after the op. and we have been trying. Although the chances are low (doctor says) we are still trying.
Does anyone know if taking clomid helps with one tube? Does anyone know anything that could help us? I am so down. Due to start my cycle in two days and I just feel like.........it will never happen (probably due to the affects of being due to start).

I guess I'm looking for any ideas.....

If not thanks for reading x

Williever, Having one tube is not the end of the world!! One of my friends lost a tube due to an ectopic pregnancy and went on to have two beautiful boys completely naturally.
I have no idea how the drugs work with one tube sorry, I also have one tube and am now pregnant, although we went down the ivf route, that was due to several factors together though, we have other issues as well that contirbuted to our ivf decision.
Good luck- so many of us know how it can feel to believe it will never happen, but you have to look after yourself.

    Hi,
I was born with only one tube and was told I might find it hard to conceive because my only tube was smaller then usual. I now have 1 amazing daughter born last year and another daughter due in a few weeks and both conceived without any help, it just took a while and I had to really get to know my body and the signs of ovulation bececause my eggs would pass through very quickly. Good luck.

I too have recently conceived with one tube. I lost my other to ectopic pregnancy 15months ago. We had been ttc for 2years and had 2 m/c before my ectopic pregnancy. When my tube was removed they could see it had been damaged for a long time which is what caused the ectopic pregnancy and they thought this was also why I had m/c my other 2 pregnancies as the tube was making the environment toxic. Now it is gone I guess that risk has been reduced and we are now 13weeks pregnant. Hopefully your sick tube that was removed was making the uterus toxic to ant embies and now its gone you will fall pregnant and have a healthy pregnancy.

I have heard clomid can increase the chance of falling pregnant as your more likely to release more the one egg thus increasing the chances of catching one. They didn't give me clomid as they said I ovulate so well on my own and we did get there eventually although it did take 12months post surgery. Best of luck hope your celebrating your pregnancy very soon.

    One tube...help!

Yes the doctor did say that the tube was causing a toxic environment with liquid flushing out any fertilised eggs. So it's nice thinking everything is healthy now. I do have issues with the other tube. It's not great but Doc reckons it functions well enough to leave in. Bothr ovaries also look ok (not great but ok)...........damage from a ruptured appendix.

I asked about clomid which she said may help and so she was happy to let me take it. Although she thinks IVF is really our best option.

After trying for 4 years now (obviously wasting a lot of time!). I just feel so tired, and frustrated. I guess I have to get my mind back into the zone and realise this could now be the start rather than being 4 years down the line! Some days though it's just too hard to get over.

    I'll give myself a break
Thank you for your replies x It's helpful just knowing others are out there

I still have two tubes but one is completely blocked due to previous infection (undiagnosed for 4 years after postnatal complications ie the dr left a pad inside me). My dr didn't give me clomid as my cycles were regular, and I fell preg naturally two cycles after completing antibiotics to clear up the infection.

I am hoping that now your toxic tube is gone you will have the same result. I know how you feel it just drags on forever with test after test. But try to stay positive, as now is the start of a different type of TTC (without the toxic tube). I will have my fingers crossed for you...
