How are you doing this morning, hun? I hope you had a chance to comfort each other as it all sinks in.

Sounds like some of the girls are giving you some great practical ideas as well.

He's not talking about it When the issues relate to me, he's super quick to pick on my lack of trust in doctors, but when it's his problem - and an easily fixed one at that - he shuts down. He's under an insane amount of stress at work at the moment, and has been for the last few months, so I tried to point out that that will effect his count as well, but he's not really listening to me.

TBH, I think he's at his limit of things he can cope with at the moment. Once this damn work situation is resolved maybe he'll actually listen to me. I hope so, his work is starting to affect our relationship. But that's for another thread.

Thanks for all your suggestions ladies - I'm adding them all into my 'book', and will change what I have control over, until he's ready to help out. Food and exercise I can look after, even the Royal Jelly stuff. It's a start anyway

Big gentle hugs for professor (and yourself my dear)

My DH refuses to do a SA just in case his swimmers are causing the infertility. at least you know now and can do things to better it now...

Hubby takes menevit. (along with me taking clomid and prenatals)

I hope it's working and gives him the courage to go get a SA done. If he doesn't do it I can't go to see the obgyn. It's a requirement...

Anyways back to professor. Poor love. Jump right on it, you WILL get there! I'm very sure of it dear!

You and professor are in my thoughts xx

Time to crush up the Menevit and sprinkle it on his cereal! JK.

I'm so sorry you guys are dealing with so much stress. It sounds like you're going through a lot right now. I hope you can come through it all soon.

Jen, I think menevit is actually a liquid capsule? I think hubby said. So it'll be more like slip it into his drink!! Haha I haven't had it but apparently it tastes yuck! Lol (coming from dh!)

Oh Lys - about not seeing an obgyn coz DH won't get a SA - just go anyway, get the referral for him, and get what you need for you. The obgyn would be required to work on your test results anyway, whether or not your DH has been tested as well. No point sitting around waiting for him to be okay with it, you can still work on your own stuff y'know?

    for you and for Professor

He might just be processing, instead of talking (as men do ). I hope his work issues resolve soon. I think you're right to focus on the changes YOU can make for now.

You're a step ahead of us! DH won't take tablets and gets cranky if I remind him. It seems the only thing he'll take regularly are his asthma medications, and I still need to remind him to do that! And he still gets cranky, but will do it.

    Men!

I think because something like this strikes at the heart of their masculinity it's hard for them to deal with. Also, men are different to women and tend to deal with things differently. Women tend to want to talk things over in order to come to terms with things and process them. Men need to do their processing internally before they can talk, it seems.

Keike thanks honey. I have both referrals. Going 3 cycles on clomid then we will go to see dr p (obgyn & FS)

Hope professor is ok and just tell him to keep on menevit and eating healthy. Another thing someone told me Was wait 2-3 days between baby dancing during your fertile period... if dh has lower than average sperm count. It only takes one to fertilize! Xxx

    Keike

Just letting you know (although you may already be aware!) That your "fertile period" actually only lasts about 24-40 hours. If you are using OPKs (ovulation tests) once you see a surge, DTD for three days straight.
If you are not using OPKs but you are still ovulating, FS recommend that you DTD every second night from the end of your period until you either test positive for PG or AF has arrived.

    Hope this helps

I really hope your DH comes around to your way of thinking and, that as a couple, you can work through this together and be stronger for having gone through it all.

    Take care x

If you get the Royal Jelly fresh, it actually looks like honey in a tiny jar ... A teaspoon a day is all you both need... It's horrid on it's own, but mixed in with other stuff has no flavour... An extra good stir of the spoon in his cup of coffee/tea is all you need

I swear by it, I am convinced it made the difference to get Melo.

Where do you get it Holly, just a health shop, or is it at chemists as well?

I read a short story once, about a male beekeeper and his wife who couldn't get pregnant. One day he read about how the bees use royal jelly, how they give a small amount to the worker bees when they're babies and then withhold it, but the queen bee gets it every day. He decided to start taking it in secret, and his wife noticed that he kinda started to look like a bee. And then they feel pregnant, and had a baby girl, only she wouldn't eat anything, and she was losing weight and very sickly. So he decided to give the baby royal jelly as well, he was giving her huge doses and she started gaining weight at a huge rate, 300-400g a day! And then when the wife found out, she looked at her daughter and realised she looked just like a bee/human too, she had light brown fuzz all over her, just like her Dad.

That's totally not gonna happen to us though, right?
