Please don't panic over weather you get your follies scanned!
I was really just answering Debbie's post when she was thinking I was chasing my follie!

I have a luteal phase defect - this is basically a hormonal imbalance and my body doesn't produce enough fsh to stimulate follicle growth and thus the lower progesterone level after ovulation which leads to a shortened luteal phase.

This coupled with the fact that I am 39+ years old increases my risk of my endometrium not developing properly. My age also increases the chance of my endometrium responding badly after multiple cycles on serophene. Therefore the close monitoring. I am on meds also in an attempt to thwart another pregnancy loss. I am on steroidal drugs for this - so I need to know ovulation so I can test as early as possible for pregnancy so we can cease the steroids if I am not pregnant this cycle. So, you will see the reasons for my close monitoring are a few. Also the older you are the less *they* like to muck around with you.

Many many women take clomid with just the cd21 test. Much depends on the specialist and how they like to do things.
What we have seen from this cycle for me is that the fsh appears to be increased - a good thing! However, we need to wait for the cd21 to make sure that it has triggered the increase in progesterone for me...

I would hate to have worried you two gorgeous women. How your doctors are prescribing and monitoring your clomid cycles is very usual. My circumstances (being older, luteal phase defect AND multiple pregnancy losses) make it a little more *under the microscope*!!!
