I was wondering if the pregnancy is counted from the egg collection or the transfer?
I was thinking that logically it would be counted as egg collection day being "ovulation" and as such it's counted from 2 weeks before that (as a natural pregnancy is counted from LMP, two weeks before ovulation). Or is it different because the embryos are grown outside your body for a period of time??
Hi Sarah...you count EPU day as '2 weeks' and count up to 40 from there and get your EDD!!! Well that's what my clinic does...all 5 times...this must be the one...looking forward to seeing you in the bellybuddies thread for end of Aprilish!!!! Goodluck xxx
For future reference, it works the same way with FET cycles. Ovulation day is counted as two weeks, transfer takes place 2-5 days later - so the actual length of the cycle is irrelevant because the day of ovulation is known so accurately.
Will be hoping you won't need to know about FET cycles for quite a long time, Sarah.
