Bobotie (Traditional South African dish) Very yummo ...

1kg ground beef (it's actually made with ground lamb, but it's hard and expensive to get, so most ppl just use the beef)
1 thick slice of brown bread
    about a cup of milk
    2 onions, halved and sliced
hmm some olive oil, about 2 tbsp
    15ml mild curry
    10ml borrie/turmeric
    a tablespoon fine apricot jam
    1 egg beaten
a dash (I am not sure how much .. say about 30 ml) white wine vinegar
    some Bay leaves
    salt and pepper too taste

Ok, oven on 180 celcius. Soak the bread in the 250ml milk. Puree with fork. Heat the oil in a pan and fry onions till soft and brown. Add curry, borrie and jam ... fry like two minutes. Take off heat. In a large mixing bow, mix the milky-bread and the beef. Add the fried onions and rest of the ingredients (exept the bay leaves). Add salt and pepper too taste.
Place meatmix in ovenproof dish. Place/press bay leaves onto meat. Place in oven and bake for 15-20 minutes.
In the meantime, beat 3 eggs and 1.5 cups of milk together. Salt and pepper too taste. Take meat out of the oven and pour eggmixture over. Place back into oven and bake for another 25-30 minutes till nice and brown on top.

Serve with yellow rice with raisins, peas and carrots and home-made chutney.
Or simple green salad and yellow rice.
Yeah the rice must be yellow LOL

    And this freeze great.
