Oh PZ i feel your pain! i had roids with both my pregnancies but mine where so bad (both times) that the creams did nothing (they had become thrombosed) so i had to have them surgically removed - i would rather go thru childbirth than have that done again!

what cream are you using, it is proctosedyl?
No, it's called Anusol. Lol. I hope it works, I really don't want to have them in labour but I really don't want to have surgery while pregnant :s

It's cream for ya Anus 'Ol

I have them too, had them with the DS as well. Grab yourself some fibre and take that as well. Helps stop the poo becoming harder where you need to strain. Also my GP suggested filling some surgical gloves with water, freezing it and then breaking off a finger to stick in ya bottom. Helps them shrink back!

And go your DF! My DH just used to laugh at the silly positions I had to get in to put the flipping cream in!

Sounds like a hemmy to me.. So embarrasing aren't they.. I had one for the first time evr last year and it hurt like hell

I was too embarrased to go to the chemist or Drs so I researched creams online and found one called Anusol ( I know I giggled at the name too) it worked brilliantly.. and you can pick it up in woolworths and throw it in with a few things ..

I am unsure about using it during pregnancy so just do a quick google and find out.. oh and paw paw cream worked well too esp after my shower.. I would dry the area with a hair drier (from a distance) and then apply a little paw paw cream.. then before bed and when I went out ect I would use the other stuff

Haha yep the hair dryer has been my friend, as has bran...mmm! The chemist guy (pharmacist?? Lol) said it's safe for pregnancy. Agh, the things they don't tell you before you're utd

gotta love the names they come up with - and yes, i totally understand not wanting to have surgery whilst pregnant! - I only had it done under local anesthetic, but omg, the pain of having the local injected directly into the hemmy is something i will never forget makes me want to cry just thinking about it!!!

Hi PZ, I was just about to post a thread about this and so glad I found yours. Just wondering how the roids are going and if the cream worked? I found one today and I am horrified!!
I need to know if there's hope??

Try coconut butter applied topically. Seems to do the trick.

Yep it cleared up within about a week. Not sure if it was the good ol' Anusol (lmao, I still love the name!) or not, it just slowly reduced over time. I did also end up using coconut oil
