Finally!! 6 and a half weeks since her birth and we have finally made it home!!
Hannah got her nasal gastric tube removed on Saturday and she decided then that she'd breastfeed. I have no idea what made her wake up to the idea.
She's still pretty tiny at 2.35 kilos so I'm using a nipple shield to feed her. She only requires a 'top up' from a bottle 2 or 3 times a day and I've got loads of frozen milk that I bought home.
She's been pretty boring actually. Its just so amazing to be home. The travelling has knocked her around and she's spent plenty of time crying but she's been sleeping for a while now.
Can't wait to show her off around town...
Getting her to breast feed was the hardest, most emotional thing I've ever done. It was harder than everything else because after nearly every attempt Hannah an I would be crying. She just didn't' seem to get it. It was so hard seeing other prem babies getting it and going home.
