I get it too. This pregnancy it started earlier. I use a urticaria cream from my naturopath and that works. The cortisol the gp recommended doesnt work. I also make sure showers etc arent too hot.

My understanding is that it's a reaction to my liver processing bub's hormones. I should also be having vegie juice and lemon and water to help flush the liver but i've been too lazy so far.

A rash can be an indicator of something more serious, so you might find it useful to have a liver function test.

Thanks guys, yeah I wish I had a rash. Least then I could show the doctor something. I just have itches, and the *****ling feeling all over.

Yeah I try to have as luke warm showers as I can stand in the mornings and just have to avoid clothing that make it too unbearable.

I did notice early on I had a real aversion to heat, hot showers made me feel sick, I coudnt even hot food for awhile.

It might well be my liver. I have hereditary fatty liver.

Thanks again it makes me fee alot better to know I am not going crazy!

Ok. Well I'd mention Obstetric cholestasis to your OB, if s/he doesnt first. Symptoms include an itch without a rash. Most mums and bubs with it are ok, but it can increase some risks.
