    Sorry you had a negative experience MAarydean. My family did as well, we found it depended on where we were posted.
    Ali, I agree with MD about making those allowances and plans but do still contact DCO and Chaplin and see what they can do, you won't know if you don't ask.

    Oh Hun, Mine is back erly too. On the weekend it was excruiciating. I am booked in to see the physio tomorrow and cant wait. Take it easy x

    If you've had it before you really should be having follow up consultations during this pregnancy probably even before now to help with prevention. First pregnancy I got it just before 20 weeks and second pregnancy I got it at - wait for it - 12 WEEKS! And was pretty much bed ridden and on restricted movement from that point onwards. So please know that unless you do post pregnancy rehabilitation work for PSD it will in most cases come back and earlier. Mine was a little bit earlier too due to an old disc problem but from what my physio told me I really should have been doing Pilates between pregnancies to strengthen everything to prevent it being as bad. Of course its a hormonal thing, and with all the relaxin in your body its like your spine is resting on a bed of blancmange, but the more you strengthen those other muscles the less problems you have.

    oh no, you poor thing!!! I got PSD at about 16 weeks with DS, I feel your pain (& lets admit it... thats a whole heap of pain we're talking about!!!)

    Have you got a belt? I suggest you just try to minimise it as much as possible with wearing your belt, trying to keep your legs together when getting out of car etc, dont stand on un-even ground etc & try to see the physio.

    I didnt realise there were so many other woman who experience this painful condition! I was only talking to DH last night about the possibility of having a 3rd child, he said he doesn't know if he could bare seeing me go through the pain of PSD again, I remember it was incredibly painful but don't think I want to stop having babies for the sake of being in pain for 6-12 months (depending on when it starts & finishes)

    I hope it doesn't become too painful for you & wish I could help in some way.

    Thanks girls. I had my belt the other week but somebody (I am assuming Em) has taken off with it and now I can't find it. My mid has told me that if I start to feel like it is coming on to call her and get a referral, so I called her this morning and she will write one up and drop it in for me.

    The girls are both in Daycare on Mondays now (Em starts next week) so I will be able to have mondays for all my appointments.

    DH will be home 6 weeks before my EDD.

    I think I will be getting DH to turn the house upside down tonight looking for it, It is way to hot to have Tubigrip on all the time!!

    My dryer is right above my washing machine so I do use that most of the time (We are on 100% green energy so I dont feel too guilty) otherwise I sit down and hang things on an airer under a ceiling fan and they dry pretty quickly. I am also using my body pillow. My pelvic floor is getting worked to exhaustion all day every day in an attempt to support my pelvis, so I think it would have started earlier if it weren't for that.

    I know how that feels. Can you see a womens health clinic or something?
    I've had them offer to send someone in to help with cleaning & stuff. Maybe you could get something like that?
    Take it easy hun.
    My physio that I saw just got me to do pelvic floor exercises, but only about 30% of what you would normally do. IYKWIM. She told me to put my hand across my tummy just under my belly button & when I do them I shouldn't feel it under my fingers. Laying on my side.
    Maybe you could try? She said its the core muscles that need strengtheing & thats the best way to do it. That was 6 months after Jesse was born, but if you do it now it might help it not get so bad.
    I had it from about 12 weeks & I still have bad days now.

    Oh my other advice - see if you can line up a temporary handicapped sticker for your car to save walking when you don't need to. Also, if you think there is any chance that a walking frame could help, then use it. PPl will pay attention to how bad it REALLY is if there is an external prop. Otherwise you might find they are clueless even after you've explained what's wrong a dozen times. (Ppl think it's 'ordinary' to have pain late in pg and just don't get that your condition is far worse than that). Good luck, let us know how you get on.
