Kitt3n thinking of you today. I hope your results come back all clear.
thankyou all of you!
just so exhausted, emotionally drained. I dont know if i should go and pick up DD from school at the end of the day or just let her go to afterschool care and wait for the call. I will feel terribl if its bad news and o breakdown with her here, DF wont be home till 7....
holly - if the test is ok i will ask what the sex is - all i want is a healthy bub so if they tell me its healthy i guess there's no harm in knowing!

Kitt3n - You have all of us here if you ever need to talk!
EVERY THING WILL BE OK!
Good luck for today and MIL's just feel as though they need to but in when it isn't called for and all she knows this might have just been a much wanted baby.... maybe that is what your DF should have said!
thinking of you today hun and
that everything will be fine..........
As for you MIL, well my language to describe her would not be suitable for this forum!
Good luck, am thinking of you, must be a horrible time having to wait around. Fingers crossed for a positive outcome.
Thinking of you and sending youCant wait to hear that everything is FINE! Stay busy today and know we're all thinking of you XX
Thinking of you Kitt3n and sending you strength and love...
This is one of those unbearable curve balls that life throws you and you WILL get thru this, with all of our support.
I have had to wait for that phone call and it is harrowing. So, remember you have a whole bunch of Belly Belly women here holding your hand.
When that fear creeps in today remind yourself that NT is an indicator and that false positives are common. Eat Tim tams and feel the sun on your face.
As for your MIL - how sad that she has so much negativity. Don't let it drag you down -
Love to you![]()
They Just Called Me, No Abnormalities!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!
hi,
i went through the same my nt scan showed the fold to be 3.3mm when above 3 is abnormal my dr assumed i would abort!! More than likely everything will come back totally fine, good luck.
Sorry your mil was like that theres no need for that!
good luck with everything, hope it is ok![]()
Huge Hugs to you. Stay positive and good luck for the phone call.
If you are worried about breaking down in front of daughter let her go to after school care so you have some head space for you, or get someone to be with you this arvo when you are expecting phone call.
In relation to MIL thats rude and un called for how terrible of her to say that.
Kitt3n, I am sure bub is perfect in every way! The tests will come back clear and they will even tell you something better than you expect. Will you find out the unit's sex?
Now I dont want to sound negative but IF, and only IF, the resuts come back that bub is DS, what would you do? use it as preparation, or abort? I will have NT next time and will use it as preparation, but I totally understand the feelings that come with it. Have you ever heard the poem about Holland?
no ali, what poem is that?
If the tests come back certain we will abort. breaks my heart - please dont anyone be angry at me for this, i just couldnt bring a little one into the world if i knew one day they wouldnt be able to take care of themself, after i am gone.............. i guess that makes this wait even harder.
I wish we could have paid even extra to have the results sooner!
kitt3n
there is no way anyone can be angry at you. I completly understand and made the same choice in my head when my first DD tests can back with no so good results. I was lucky enough to not have to make that decision. It is no ones decision but yours to make, if is your life who will be affect.
we are all here to support you with your decision and all praying for the best outcome for you.
WELCOME TO HOLLAND

I am often asked to describe the experience of raising a child with a disability - to try to help people who have not shared that unique experience to understand it, to imagine how it would feel. It's like this......
When you're going to have a baby, it's like planning a fabulous vacation trip - to Italy. You buy a bunch of guide books and make your wonderful plans. The Coliseum. The Michelangelo David. The gondolas in Venice. You may learn some handy phrases in Italian. It's all very exciting.
After months of eager anticipation, the day finally arrives. You pack your bags and off you go. Several hours later, the plane lands. The stewardess comes in and says, "Welcome to Holland."
"Holland?!?" you say. "What do you mean Holland?? I signed up for Italy! I'm supposed to be in Italy. All my life I've dreamed of going to Italy."
But there's been a change in the flight plan. They've landed in Holland and there you must stay.
The important thing is that they haven't taken you to a horrible, disgusting, filthy place, full of pestilence, famine and disease. It's just a different place.
So you must go out and buy new guide books. And you must learn a whole new language. And you will meet a whole new group of people you would never have met.
It's just a different place. It's slower-paced than Italy, less flashy than Italy. But after you've been there for a while and you catch your breath, you look around.... and you begin to notice that Holland has windmills....and Holland has tulips. Holland even has Rembrandts.
But everyone you know is busy coming and going from Italy... and they're all bragging about what a wonderful time they had there. And for the rest of your life, you will say "Yes, that's where I was supposed to go. That's what I had planned."
And the pain of that will never, ever, ever, ever go away... because the loss of that dream is a very very significant loss.
But... if you spend your life mourning the fact that you didn't get to Italy, you may never be free to enjoy the very special, the very lovely things ... about Holland.
