Trishy - Sorry I didnt check this thread earlier. Im so sorry youve been so sick. It really isnt fair that you have had to endure this well into the second trimester. I am hoping and praying that your bad days are all replaced with good days. Thinking of you.

Thnks DG, I am having more good days now. I can get bad in the morning and need to watch what I eat but I think I have turned a corner.

Melsa I am like you throwing up a few times a week instead of every day is heaps better

I am glad to hear it is getting better for you Melsa and Trishy. I have also got to not throwing up at all many days and only once on the days I do, so that is a lot better.

Hello fellow HG sufferers. I am 11w3d with my second bub and today I feel especially like dying. I have a stupid cold on top of it all with a swollen sore throat which is of course exacerbated by vomitting, but like a catch 22 triggers my gag reflex even more
I have only come to the realisation this pregnancy that this is not normal. I just thought it was how I got m/s. I had it until 16w with DS and aside from a few hospital trips for IV fluids, never got any medication from anyone. Got really annoyed with the lack of understanding from people, and this time was lucky enough to have heard of HG since my last pregnancy, so at least I could tell people to rack off if they told me to eat a cracker and it will pass, etc.
So far, just one trip to hospy, but I think I'm headed there again soon with the added "help" of this cold/sore throat.
I keep telling myself that there is only 4 1/2 weeks to go, as I have that 16 week mark from last time as light at the end of the tunnel. I don't know what I'll do if it doesn't go away... I am so scared of it staying all pregnancy.

Brogeybear I had sinus and throat infection before Easter and it set off my hg again so can relate. I did the whole grin an bear if 1st time round too and thought like you it was just part of pregnancy. I hope you do improve at the 16 week mark.

brogeybear, Im sorry you have had to join this thread but welcome Its hard when people dont understand and dont want to listen either. So did you stop throwing up all together at 16 weeks last time or did it just back off a little?

Started to think I may have been ready to TTC a couple of weeks ago then got a stomach bug and threw up, first time since I was 36ish weeks pregnant and it brought back so much I was so upset and scared to go to the bathroom because I didnt want to be sick. So I dont know if we will ever TTC again, I am just too scared

Thanks everyone. Yes it is great to have other women who actually understand what it is like. I was one of the lucky ones. I only vomited a few times sporadically after the 16 week mark. I actually enjoyed pregnancy after that point. I am hoping that it will be the same this time around. I want at least 3 children, hopefully 5. Luckilly I am young enough to space them out a bit, lol. But if I get hit for a full pregnancy with the HG I think that has the potential to really make me think twice. At least next time I will know to firstly look at some natural therapies *before* getting UTD, and then get on to a treatment plan really early on instead of waiting until I end up in hospital. *doh*

So as if the hyperemesis isn't bad enough, DS and I got a cold, and then DS got a squirty bum, which DH and I seem to have also. So now all I can smell is @rse and cr@p. And so I am burning a candle to help with the smell and it is giving me a headache. *sigh* Please let this stop in 3 1/2 weeks, please!

Hi to everyone,
Wow I'm so excited to have found real people who really really get HG.
Firstly before I head on into this I have read a few posts and am thrilled for those who Hg is easing, and (((HUGS))) for those who are still suffering. For the lady's who's HG is worse due to other illness double (((HUGS))) for you both.
About me I've had HG with both pregnancys now. ds 1998 for 1st and half way through 2nd tri.
dd 2005 sadly all the way through till two days post delivery. Boy that sucked!
We are activly trying again and I am terrified of HG again. I am crossing everything that there will be no HG this time around.
I so want another child but not looking forward to being besties with the renovated loo. I was great friends with the old one.
It's not just the vomiting I'm scared of also the serious constipation, blood shot eyes, broken blood vessels, vomiting blood, excessive tiredness, the people in the hospital who put the IV in who never could find my veins and the just jabed and jabed "Hay I'm not a pin cushion" all the trying of the different meds and none worked cause there is no point giving me tablets cause they don't stay down. Not to mention the people who offer "just try a cracker and a cuppa before you get up of a morning, worked for me" AGH! or my mil who is firmly in the "think positivly and it won't happen" camp.
Hay lady I'm taking my DR's advise and putting in place strategies and you really could help out your son one day a week without being asked every time. AGH!!! and take your darling grand son to his sporting game which is on a Saturday.
Oh and my little sister who is pregnant and has simple ms. Lucky duck! But she dosn't get it.
So I am scared stiff and simply thrilled to find you all who actully get HG. I am so sorry that you are all suffering with HG though and hope that one day, some research team somewhere will one day find better ways in helping HG sufferers.

I'm back in hospital. Maybe because of a bug food poisoning

In really down in the dumps yesterday I kept crying wishing I wasn't sick or pregnant again. Which today I feel a bit silly about as I wanted this baby more than anything and went through so much to make it happen

I'm also getting scared about the birth after my experience with my daughter

I'm at a different hospital but scared if I go go through it

I know I have no choice etc and thing will be different this time I'm just on a downer

Trishy, being so sick is very, very hard. You have every right to wish you arent sick or even pg for that matter, because all you feel right now is pain. It does affect you emotionally even more than you probably realise atm, which is why you feel so down even though you think you should not feel that way (at my worst I wanted to die), but you will get better and you will be holding your much loved, much wanted baby in August.

I hope you are feeling better now and not so down.

trishy, well DG has summed it up perfectly so I dont need to add anything except this......
In regard to the fear you are feeling about birthing, have you considered hiring a Doula? You would be able to discuss all these fears and hopes for this birth and perhaps work out a bit of a goal/ plan. Just a thought.
