I didn't need to pay either, I was told three days but 48hours later they had the results and that included t18 and downs...a few weeks later they rang just to let me know those results were still normal and everything was fine :-)
Glad they don't have to wait too long, should have all their answers by the end of the week!! Try not too worry yourself until you know more:-)
I have just seen this thread, sending much strength to your sister during this difficult wait. It all seems so very strange, the way it has been handled! I am glad she had the option to have an amino as she certainly should. Praying for clear results xx
Hugs to your sister and what a terrible and traumatic time for them both.
Just another one jumping on to say that Tri 18 babies are compatible with life. My step sister is tri 18 and is 16 years old!
If you need any more information PM
I'm such an anxious mess. I wish I was able to get up there and be strong for them both but my stupid car is due for rego. I hope when I do get to go up there it is because we're celebrating!
I'm so annoyed at the 2 Drs that have failed my sister. She was supposed to have been told this stuff at her 14 week appointment. And to be told the way that she was is horrible. I sadly know how my sister would be feeling right now. I'm worried for her so much too as she suffers from anxiety real bad. I just want the news to be good. I feel like they will be. I just hope it is.
I'm just so thankful to everyone in here who is thinking of us all and wishing for the best too. I truly don't have the words to tell you just how much that means to me. Thank you all so very much.
I hope you know whats happening soon. I don't understand how they told her the baby would be still born without doing further tests at all? Did they even try the doppler??
Nope, nothing. All she was told was that she was likely in labour as babies with the condition that hers has are usually still born between 20-24 weeks. That is when my sis & BIL asked "what condition" and the Dr said "has no one spoken to you about this?"
It's all ridiculously bad handling of this information. Apparently things were supposed to be stamped and signed 3 times and haven't been. The midwife was appalled. My sister was a mess and couldn't think straight. I got my BIL to go back to the hospital maternity and ask for more info, which he did which is why she was then referred for amnio. You're familiar with the area my family are from (SWR) and the hospital I'm talking about. It's just insane.
I've only just seen this thread but wanted to add my hugs and also to reiterate what others have said, that this treatment your sister has had is appalling and I hope that when everything is settled down and they know what is happening that they put in a formal complaint so that no other mother is put through the same treatment in future.
