I too ended up with gastro (or a bug) at 35 weeks, and ended up in the birth suite dehydrated. It's for the best that you're going to your dr today.

get yourself to the doc hun.

i had major horrible gastro (not whilst pregnant though) ON MY BIRTHDAY last year - ended up in hospital on the drip. the drip is amazing, you dont realise how dehydrated you are until that drink goes straight into your arm, its like a clean krisp internal bath in a crystal clear lagoon... doesnt that sound weird?!

Hope someone is looking after you and the lil man?

Mel, I wish I had seen this sooner. I had gastro (mostly vomitting though) several times during my 2nd pg. My ob was never concerned about the lack of food intake, but was always concerned about dehydration. If you are keeping plenty of fluids in, I wouldn't be too worried, but if you aren't weeing much or otherwise feel dehydrated I would get checked out. I ended up in hossy with a drip for rehydration one time.

Thanks guys, I've made an appointment for 12, so hopefully won't need to go to the hospital or anything. I'm not weeing that much (probably cos its all comin out my butt instead.. lol) but I'm trying to drink as much as possible.

DH's parents just came and took the boy off my hands, but otherwise its the cats here taking care of me...

Take care of yourself! Good girl for going to the drs.

I had gastro a couple of years ago (I wasn't pregnant) and ended up having an ambulance called while I was at the drs because I was so dehydrated. I was given an oxygen mask and put on the drip once I was at the hospital. The drip was the BEST thing ever!

I'm sure you won't need anything that drastic, but it's always best to get looked at. I hope you feel better soon you poor love .

Back from the doc now. I must be so tired because I burst into tears as soon as I sat down. I blamed the hormones cos I'm not a crier!!!! I just don't cry, especially in front of strange docs.

Apparently there is a different strain of the rotavirus going around the sunny coast and I've got it. Expect another 24-36 hours of hell basically. Yay for me. Nothing to give me but keep up the fluids and eat starchy foods. (no dairy - damnit no chocolate!) Hopefully Aricyn doesn't get this one cos its a badddd one.

Oh, and he felt my belly - he's predicting a 10 pounder.. just what I need for a VBAC!!!!!

oh you poor thing - i had this with DD#3 at 39 weeks.....it sent me into labour, due to being so dehydrated.... So whilst having a baby (literally) in the mat ward, i was also throwing up from gastro bug. Pregnant or not, it has to be the worst.....

Good luck over the next few days......
