    It hurts so bad *TMI*

This really is gonna be TMI, and the only reason I'm putting it here is because I don't actually know any of you IRL, so it feels safe. Otherwise I would be even more embarrassed. Which is also why I haven't gone to a doctor

For a while now (months rather than weeks), I've been in pain when doing #2 - not the whole time, just sharply and quickly. It kind of feels like my perineum is grazed, but I don't have a clue as to how it would've happened. I'm currently taking Benefibre to try and soften everything, but it doesn't seem to be affecting the pain. And not long after, I noticed that I feel like I'm being torn whenever DH and I DTD. I've tried lube, different positions, going slower, making sure I've O'd before he enters - nothing works. In the last couple of weeks, its actually stopped us DTD, because its just incredibly painful. It almost feels like there's something else in my vagina thats being rubbed when DH is there. This morning it hurts to even sit down, I feel like there's a gash going down from the bottom of my vagina.

It hurt so bad last night that, out of desperation, I asked DH to look down there to see if there was anything visible, but he says there's not. I really don't want to go to a doctor, I just don't have a GP that I'm comfortable with. Please, ANY suggestions would be helpful

    Hi Keikemamaki

There are many things that can cause this unfortunately, to find out what is causing your pain you would really need to see a doctor and have a full examination.

But its so traumatic to be examined 'down there' Hell, I'm in tears right now just at the prospect of having it done!

Alan, out of the many things it could be, and I understand that you can't diagnose over the Internet - is it likely that it could be something that won't go away on its own? The thing I'm terrified of most is not the physical examination, although that scares me as well, its the thought that I'll be told its nothing and I just hafta deal with it til it goes away. I can handle it if its something serious, but for it to turn out to be nothing, I feel like I'm 10 years old being called a hysterical hypochondriac

I know K, I really do, and I understand, but there is clearly something wrong and you can't fix it on the internet.
Is that the sort of treatment you've been getting from GPs? You really need to find a better one!
I had a great one (miles from you) but he's no longer a GP unfortunately. Someone recommended a nice lady doctor to me up in Kalamunda recently... What about your gynae?

What about that lovely gyneacologist that you found? Could you get an appointment with him? I'm with you I find even the thought of being examined "down there" embarrassing to the extreme, but sometimes it needs to be done. :hugs:

If you like I can give you the name of the GP/Ob I saw who is in a med centre not too far from you (if I recall correctly) He's a great GP on it's own, but also being an Ob he sees 'down there' a heck of alot, in all kinds of instances, if that might make it a bit easier for you? I hate it too, don't worry

I had a similar issue in my teens, and I was so embarrassed I took almost a year before I went to the doctor. It turned out I had thrush, which had left my skin tender, when I had ripped a little (ow ow ow) when DTD. I needed a pessary for the thrush, and time to heal. I was also advised to stop using lube as it was irritating my skin, although I have now found one that doesn't irritate me.

During my examination the GP was very understanding and it was over so quickly. Please find a GP you can go and see, explain your fears and I am sure they will be sympathetic during the examination. It's not worth being in pain for something that may be quickly fixed, like mine was.
