    Silly question maybe??? (TMI)

Can I use sudocream on my vagina? I was thinking yes because you put it on nappy rash on bubbas.

I've been really irritated down there. I've been using femfresh, cotton panty liners, bepanthen, canesten, changing my underware like 5 times a day, going without underware where i can just to ease it irriation and keep it trimed clean. Don't think it's thrush cause theres no discharge but there are so many other pg related things it could be.
I'm going to ask my dr about it when i see him on Tuesday but i was trying to find anything else to soothe and ease the irritation.

Just a tmi question. Are you itching on the inside or outside of your labia? If it is the outside, then it could be a vulval dermatitis, which I suffer from. Basically the one thing that helps the most is elacon (sp) ointment (ointment is better than the cream as it clings) it is often used for eczema. Also not using soaps, talcs, wearing cotton etc. The heat kills me though, really makes it worse.

It could be from the trimming of hair. I know sometimes it makes me more itchy and I think its because the end of the hair becomes really sharp when cut with scissors or a razor IYWIM.

I think it would be okay to use the sudocream.

Mmm you haven't shaved/waxed and are having ingrown hairs? As Ali says, regrowth can get really itchy, and to keep the skin moist seems to help too, from anecdotes I've heard.

Try Dermaid for the itching also, as it might be dermatitis. Good luck. its irritating as all hell huh?!

    Sunshine
Thrush can occur on the outside without discharge. That's what it sounds like to me, but your doc will clarify it for you. Try to not use liners if u can help it, they can irritate sensitive skin. And if it is thrush, then u need to keep applying canisten consistantly for two weeks. Symptoms can take a few days to go away in this case.

Try taking a bath or shower to ease the itching, then apply the cream. when this happened to me (after the birth of my DD) my doc told me to bathe in detol instead of showering. i was bathing upwards of 6 times a day for the first few days but it got better.

Hope it clears up before Tuesday! you poor thing. xx

I got some dermaid cream to put on. Have been bathing in dettol all day. A cold compress helps soothe the pain. Should I be putting a barrier on over the dermaid?? If so, I have bepathen, pawpaw and sudocream. Which is the best one to use with the dermaid?

I'm no doctor, but i'd prefer pawpaw if it were myself. It's a little more natural. Just my personal thoughts. Good luck hun

From my own experience I would be reluctant to be using too many products, especially any anti fungals without a proper diagnosis. I tried so many different things, each one would work for a short while then seemed to make it worse.

:yeahthat: I agree, don't go using antifungals until you have a proper diagnoses. You can actually build up a resistance to stuff like canisten, unfortunately. Also try bathing the area in a salt water solution, with a few drops of cider vinegar and a small amount of crushed garlic. Sounds weird, but worked wonders for me. Hope it eases up soon, it's so uncomfortable and icky

PumpkinZulu - you just reminded me of an easy natural remedy for candita (the thrush fungus). I swallow a whole clove of garlic everyday for about a week. it's the safest thing to take when you're pregnant, and it helps to give the immune system a kick in the backside too. I just did a lot of garlic a couple of months ago, and my friend who's 6mths pregnant is doing hers now at the request of our biochemist. It makes you smell a little like garlic, and (TMI warning) it makes u fart a lot as well as going to poop a lot more... but it really does work. If it didnt, our biochemist wouldn't give it to us.

gosh it's not easy being female is it?

Thanks everyone for your advice and suggestions.
I managed to get into the dr tonight as it had gotten worse.
Turns out its a type of dermatitis and its spread to around the top of the vagina. (Sorry TMI )
EXTREMELY painful cause it started to raise and blister but hopefully the antibiotic cream will clear it up soon.

I don't even know how things like this start but OMG i feel for people that have any type of dermatitis all the time now!

OMG - Astrid! I have exactly the same problem. It started when I used a hair removal cream down there and gave myself a chemical burn when I was younger . - TMI sorry

Now it can be so itchy it is unbearable. At the moment 1% dermaid is working well but I have to change products all the time to keep some relief. Problem is that every time I have to see a Dr - I can't always see the same one at the clinic and each one wants to give me a full STD check!! I have been tested so many times now its not funny!!
