Jess, I got a referal from my gp to the out patients at the Goulburn Valley Hospital in Shepparton. I was 27 and only had 2 kids when I got my tubes tied. But, they didnt give me the proper councilling of facts at the time. Give them ago. Im sure you could get it done through there. Let me know how you go.

    Hello Everyone

I am new here too. I had my tubal ligation done when my last son was born and I have regretted it every since. I cant find any doctor where I live who will reverse it willingly and the fact that they wanted to charge me $10,000 put it out of my range. They are all pushing me to go to IVF. I am very angry with the hospital for not giving me all the information that I required in the first place and told me things about it after the fact.

I orginally wanted it done because I had such a hard time dealing with being a parent. With Aaron I found it so much better. Maybe I was older, not having two children so close in age or the financial pressures that we had I do not know what it is. Maybe it is a combination of all of these things.

Storm you cycle sounds exactly like mine and the excuse that the doctors have been giving me are nearly the same and they are blaming that your cycle changes throughout your life.

Congratulation Sushee on the birth of your son Charles.

Congratulation too Maz. I hope that your scan will go well for you.

I would appreciate any information on where to get my reversal done so I can look into it. I am quite will to travel there to get it done.

    Take Care

I am so glad we asked for this forum to be made. We all need help in one way or another and Im so glad we have a site like BB to come too and help each other.
Kimberly. Never give up hope. I fell pregnant 3 times whilst my tubes were tied. I woke up from surgery (getting them tied) and cried my eyes out. I also didnt get the proper councilling and information before going through with my op. I would never had done it. Jed and I decided to get my tubes done as my youngest in Autistic and we thought we would be selfish if we had another child.
I dont think its anyones right to tell us how many children we should have or yearn. I felt like something was coninuously missing from in me and that I was hollow and empty. I realise I have 2 beautiful boys but there was still that little 'something' that I needed.
Carazymum2 - I pushed and pushed the local hospital here in Shepparton (vic) to get an appointment. They told me that I had to wait 18 months to 2 years to have the appointment. I rang the Royal Womans Hospital in Melbourne. All they needed was a referral from my doctor. I got that for them in January 2005 and they gave me an appointment for the 12th of April 2005. 4 months, that was it. I went for the appoinment, explained why I wanted the reversal, had a blood test and hubby had to do a test to see if we were fertile. We then waited to hear for the op date, which came about June 2005. I was given the 4th of October. I had to go in 2 weeks prior to do paper work and another blood test. Then I came in on October 4th (tuesday) and went home Friday, a new woman. They tell you to wait 6 weeks until starting (or until your comfortable) and they say if your not pregnant within the first 12 months then you may have to consider IVF. They also said that it may take upto 6 months to fall.
Im sorry if my post has been long (sorry mod) but I wanted to tell you what was involved. Its worth every bloody minute. Storm has had a beautiful little man and IM now 18weeks+ pregnant. Its hard but I felt like a million bucks knowing that I would be that step closer to having that void filled in my life.
Let me know if you want anymore info guys.
I'll only be to happy to help.
    xxmaz

I so know what you mean about feeling a huge void Maz! I do feel better being normal again, I used to feel like I wasn't a woman anymore, but after the op I just felt so much better ( well, after I recovered!!)

Angela, Don't take no for an answer from your GP, mine said no, so I went & found another one who would give me a referal ( he is now my new GP) I dont think a doctor should be allowed to say no for something as personal as this, it's wrong & how could a doc possibly know who we feel?
The first specialist we went to see flat out refused to do a reversal & just suggested IVF, so I went back to me GP & we searched on the net & found the dr at NEW Castle, yeah it was a fair drive, but it was worth it.10G's does sound a bit much though, I went private & paid 6 & the most expensive part was the hospital

Yay, for Sush, I read the birth announcements!!

Hi Kimberley, Goodluck with your doc, a friend of mine has had 4 c/s, so keep this in mind when you see him. I will look in to reversals in QLD for you if you like, I will let you know what I can find, I remember when I did my search I found a few up that way.
Also check with the gyno's in you area, I found out after my haematoma, that the gyno, up the road, also does reversals!!!!!

Had a weird animated dream Storm. I dreamt we were all like our av's kiving in a normal world and that you were pregnant with twins. You knew that one was a boy and that the other was a girl.

    Hi Girls,

Sorry to butt in here, but just wanted to add that Im the result of a reversal!

My mum gave birth to a baby 2 years prior to myself who had suffered great complications and sadly passed away at 6 hours, the doctors took it upon themselves to tie my mothers tubes.

2 years later, after sueing and also having the reversal, she gave birth to me!

I wish you all the best of luck!

    Take Care - Colleen

    hi girls

can i come and join you?

maz told me about this in sept BB.

Im trying to get through all your posts,at the moment, so i will read them later and tell you my story!

had 5 kids with my ex, first died of sids, had my tubes tied in 1998.

had my reversal in june 2004, in newcastle as well, dr wollnough(cant spell, sorry) cost $6500, was in alot of pain after op and now im pregnant im getting lots of pain on my sides, mostly rght side, i have put it down to maybe scar tissue?

i had a chemical pregnancy, then last june i fornd out i was pregnant, we were so happy, after 12 months of trying, as the doc said that there is only 5% chance after 12 months to conceive, that ended in a miscarriage i had also been on clomid for 3 months, as my periods were all over the place, and it was hard to keep track, if i was actually ovulating!

so we had a big long think about it, and decided not to try, as we did not want to go through another m/c, but in january this year, i did a test, thinking this is so silly as we were taking sooo many precations, and there it was BFP, we both just cryed, so i am now nearly 17 weeks, and we couldnt be happier..........we are very lucky, but it took 18months!

we are hoping to have another straight away, if my body will let me!

look forward to getting to know you all. :flower:

8-[ Oh Maz, I'd love a set of twins!

Wow, Colleen, that's really cool! I wonder if Zac will ever be told that he is too???

Sorry, Kimberely, I haven't had a chance to check Qld out for you. But the doctor in N/C is really good, DR Woolcott, I know it's way too far for you though, but do check out your gyno's in toowomba, just call & ask them, they won't know who you are!!

Congratulations Chrissy!!! Your situation is much the same as mine re reversal, & all the trouble tring to get pg, I am hoping to have just one more too, Zac is heading up to 9 months now, & I've been trying for 3 months, not long considering it took a ful 12 months to fall with Zac! But still driving me bonkers!

Ok the washing wont hang itself out, have a great day!!!

    sorry girls

my doctor was dr woolcott, not wollnough (what i wrote).

i found him very good, but the biggest expense was the stay in a private hospital for 3 days. :flower:

Have to ask, have either of you Storm or Chrissy had c/s? A gf of mine suggested I asked because of the pain I get in the right hand side and I saw you have pain there also Chrissy. Just trying to see if it has anything to do witht he amount of op's we may or maynot have all had.
Having my u/s tomorrow and Im starting to feel like im pregnant. Its slowly sinking in and yes Im so excited and nervous about tomorrow. I know it sounds funny to say that but I really felt like I was lying when I told people I was pregnant. Probably cause I had my tubes tied and thought there would never be any more. Dont know, dont care now, cause its sunk in \/
Thank god for scrapbooking because I know I wont sleep tonight and I can do that to keep my nerves at bay.
Chat to you all soon girls and yes im finding out what im having. 10am tomorrow, think off me.

maz- as for the c/s, no given birth naturally to all five!
the pain i have been getting is usually on the right side, but it comes on the left as well, not where the scar is. i went to the doc a few weeks ago, as i was finding it gettting really bad when i was walking or doing aqua, it it is relieved a bit when i empty my bladder, mind you, its not always full! which can be very annoying. the doc tested my urine, and i had an infection, so i went on antibodics, i thought it was over, but no i keep getting it, and it is very painfull, that i cant do a bloody thing, i usually have a couple of panadols, but doc put it down to either bubs on bladder, or stetching, but i seem to think its to do with the op, and maybe scar tissue or something? but will ask my midwife next apointment.

good luck tomorrow, im hanging to find out what you are having.

storm, yeh when i read you went to newcastle i thought you would of seen dr woolcott, good luck TTC #2 after TR.

    SEE YA :flower:
