Meditation or daydreaming can be a good way of getting in touch with those parts of yourself too. (and its free! lol)
Try to relax and close your eyes, allow thoughts and images to float around you and try not to react to them, be aware and acknowledge them but dont assign an emotional tag to them....let them enter and exit as they do. By doing this, and becoming good at it, you will allow yourself to see parts of things you never paid attention to before.
The recording of your dreams is also a good way to see if there is something that is needing attention. Keep and pen and paper by the bed and if you wake in the morning or middle of the night, write down the emotions you are feeling, colours, shapes, sounds, smells....anything that is in your head. Dont worry too much about 'trying to remember what happened', simply write down the symbols and energies and images you are left with. Go back to sleep and read it and meditate on those things and what they mean to you when you are awake next. You will be amazed at what you pick up on

    Good luck!
Oh, and what type of birds are they?

aimz, I will have to look for that book while I'm looking for the others Marydean suggested! It sounds interesting.

Thanks for that Alexis. I have tried in the past few days to quiet myself and meditate a bit. But I have found that since having kids I am really bad a turning off my mind. I can always hear them (the kids) and always think of what I need to do . I have never learnt how to properly meditate but I used to be able to go quiet and notice my thoughts how you described. Not so many dreams here anymore either. I am in a constant state of being sleep deprived (I think my kids are allergic to sleep!), on a good night I get maybe 5-6hrs of broken sleep. When I do have a dream it's usually interrupted by a crying baby and I have no time to write it down. My poor guides/angels/message bearers must be having a pretty tough time trying to get me a message these days!

The birds I see are different. Though I have strong images of seeing 3 green lorikeets (I think they're called) that nearly flew into my face on Tuesday! And a black ****atoo I saw on some power lines when we were away. And this morning I saw a heap of pigeons on the rooftop next door as the sun was rising. When I think of these things I can see them like I just saw them. Do different bird mean things? As in do parrots mean one thing and sparrows mean another?

Here is a basic list, not complete by any means but a very good start.

    Blackbird: A message of blessings.
    Bluebird: Happiness.
Corncrake: A warning of misfortune to come.
Crane: Independence, cessation of combat .
    Crow: Divine law.
    Curlew: Storm Bringer.
Dove: Luck in Love. Love, peace & gentleness
    Duck: Good Luck. Wealth
Eagle: Divine Spirit. To see an eagle is to have divinity touch your life. Flamingo: Awareness.
    Goose: Faithfulness, communication, & travel
    Grouse: Sacred Spiral.
    Gull: Adaptability.
Hawk: Messenger. If you see a hawk, look around, there is a message for you in what is also going on around you.
Hen: Domesticity. Hens also predict the weather; if they gather on a mound and preen their feathers, rain is on the way. Also if it starts to rain watch your hens if they huddle under shelter, the rain will be of short duration, if they go out into it, the rain will last most of the day.
    Heron, blue: Rhythm and balance
    Hummingbird: Joy Miracles
    Kingfisher: Predicts a magical experience.
    Lark: Great happiness.
    Loon: Solitude.
    Magpie: Fortune-teller.
    Nightjar: Illness.
    Ostrich: Fickleness.
    Owl: Wisdom. Visions.
    Parrot: Mimic. Ostentatiousness.
    Pea****: Pride. Vanity.
    Pelican: Watchfulness.
    Penguin: Playfulness.
    Pheasant: Confidence
Raven: Magic. When you see ravens you may be about to experience a change in consciousness.
    Road-runner: Cleverness.
Robin: Gypsies see robins as a bringer of good luck.
    Rook: Good Luck.
    Rooster: Pride.
Stork: Its German name adebar means "luck bringer", and a stock perching on your house indicates very good fortune.
    Sparrow: Good luck for lovers.
    Swallow: Good fortune.
    Swan: Grace.
Turkey: Give away. Amerinds see turkey as a sign of generosity.
Vulture: Poverty. Serious disruption in your life.
    Wagtail: Good luck.
    Woodpecker: Guardian.
    Wren: Bringer of good luck

ETA Without being morbid either, birds are often a strong omen of death in particular circumstances. I wont post here in case I upset anyone, but if you would like to know, PM me and I will tell you the bird omens that indicate a death. They are simply the situations in which many of the above listed birds will indicate death, not just a specific bird. iykwim.

Obviously all of these things are open to interpretation, and the situation in which you are seeing them. This is simply their basic indications. It is sort of like a horoscope in the newspaper - it coud mean anything you want it to lol you have to find the correct meaning

When you are meditating, not being able to 'turn off' is ok. Just sit quietly (maybe when the kids are napping or not home ) and allow yourself to have thoughts. The trick is not to assign an emotional tag to them, or actively pursue the next thought. Pretend, if you can, that your mind is like the strip of headlines at the bottom of the news lol hope that makes sense!! Allow the though to come in to your mind, observe it, then allow it to pass to allow the next. You will find after practice and many attempts that you can do this readily. Also you should find that all the average everyday thoughts will run their course and once you have thought the thoughts, observed and acknowledged them, they will give way to the less every-day sort of thoughts and you can begin to open your mind a little.

Hope that made sense! lol Time and patience is the key, things most of us mums have very little of I know! But a few minutes a day, even while you are just sitting having a coffee or taking in the washing can be helpful. The more you allow yourself to to do this, the organisation and time you give to the thoughts you didn't realise you were having (which may be the key to finding what it is your guides are trying to show you )

    Good luck hun!

I understand what you mean about the headlines on the tv, I think I managed to shut off really well for a bit last night when I was feeding DS in bed...but I fell asleep! Anytime I close my eyes now I fall asleep lol...but I will keep trying! I used to do it every day but just don't have time now.

Ok I have another q with this...if I have stopped seeing all of the feathers and birds would that mean I have recieved the message? I had stopped noticing them for a few weeks. Though today I have saw a little fluffy feather floating in the air in front of my face....would that mean there's a new message???
