Bleeding

Hi,
I had a miscarriage 10 Days ago and still bleeding. Can anyone tell me how long the bleeding lasts for and is is true you shouldnt swim until the bleeding has stopped........

It is normal to bleed for a couple of weeks for some women a little longer and a little shorter for others. It is true that it's best if you have had a D&C not to swim or have a bath until after the bleeding has stopped. Likewise you should not use tampons or have intercourse until the bleeding is complete. This helps prevent any infection.

I have had 6 losses and 3 miscarriages in the first trimester - these were all like a very heavy and painful period and the bleeding lasted about 10-14 days.

Sorry to hear your sad news.
Your in the right place to get help and support through the bad days.
I agree with flower child its a bad idea to swim or bath or get into a spa as you could get an infection and that will cause lots of pain and could damage the lining of the uterus. I don't want to scare you or anything but its best to be informed of what could happen.

Everybody is different and it depends on if you had a D&C or natural miscarrage as to how long you could bleed afterwards.
