Have no idea how to manage the pain with just panadol, ibuprofen and tramadol (100mg) every time I move I hurt.

PP- sorry to hear you are in so much pain, physically and emotionally. Did they say how long to expect to feel discomfort?

PP with my experience of a MC and major complications afterwards, I found the physical pain was worse because of the trauma and emotional experience being so bad. It's just one day at a time working through what you have experienced. Even over a year later I can still feel a deep grief and pain at times. Thinking of you x

:-( didn't sleep well at all. Woke hubby and cried a few times.

I haven't been taking my pain killers as I should apparently that's why it's been hurting badly. Feeling the pain makes it so real... If you know what I mean. I woke this morning hoping it was a dream... It wasn't. I've still got patches on my belly, still bruises on my arms from the ivs... no baby in my belly, instead im now empty... And only one remaining tube.

PP I hope you have gotten your aim under control, did you get something stronger? I find mersyndol night is great and also helps with the sleeping as well as pain. I have also had my dh have panadol and restavit which is on over the counter sleeping tablet together which helped him after surgery. I just usually check with the chemist as sometime you can mix a couple safely so pain is managed really well.
I am so sorry you are in so much pain which is also reminding you constantly of everything you have lost. Cuddle your hubby and cry and I have no doubt he will help you get through this babe and we are all here to xoxoxo

Once again I'm so sorry PP. After my surgery it took a good 6-8weeks to physically recover for me perhaps made worst by the fact I was at a very hard time in my life as my ectopic was my 3rd loss in over a year and I discovered why that had happened during my surgery. I then got a bowel abcess 3weeks later as a complication from the surgery. At that stage I couldn't see another pregnancy in the future or hope of having the baby we desperately wanted. I felt guilty I couldn't give DH a baby and then quit my job as a midwife as I couldn't cope working in that field. The hope was gone initially and the pain from that only one could understand that had been there before.

Re: How long after a loss?

Just did another frer after the OP 2 days ago. Still positive. Need to hide them away. Hope it goes negative soon. I just want to forget about it. The pain sucks. There are so many reminders that I'm not pregnant anymore...

    How long after a loss?

It takes a while for hcg to drop from your body, I like you did the same after my loss and found once I saw the complete negative it helped me move on but it also messes with your head to.
Be kind to yourself, you will never forget but it will ease over time beautiful xo

I had a mm/c rather than ectopic, but I tested weekly after the d&c. After 1 week, the hpt was still positive, but it was negative 2 weeks after the d&c. It can take longer for some women, but my point is, if you want to test, don't test daily because it could stick around for a while. Maybe test again in a week so your body has some time to metabolise the hcg and get rid of it.

And, in the meantime, remember, they've removed a part of an organ, so take it easy and don't push yourself to recover on an unrealistic schedule. It's going to take a while. Use the pain meds as directed and get as much help as you can so that you can rest.

Re: How long after a loss?

    Seeing the doctor this morning.

I feel empty and very sore physically. Off to get more pain killers, they didn't discharge me with many at all.

I'm also going to ask for a sedative as I keep waking at night and am unable to get back to sleep. I think the grief is so overwhelming at the moment. I don't really want to deal with it.... I just want it gone. Like my tube, I wish it was cut out of me like my baby & tube was... Then maybe I wouldn't feel this way and could get on with my life.
