Hi Julie, thanks for pointing me to this thread. I am really sorry you are going through all this! You know my experiences with the ectopic etc...which wasn't seen on my early scans...however, by 8 weeks i was having pain from the ectopic, and the fact you are not, seems a good sign to me.
The drug is methotrexate...(sp?) it's a drug also given to treat rheumatoid arthritis and other things.
I hope soon you will know what's going on. I think I too would be opting for the D&C.
You really don't deserve all this stress on top of the loss you've already had. I know what it feels like to be back and forth with this stuff, and it is really stressful and upsetting. Sending you my best wishes and hoping things get better very soon

Big hugs my love.... My first thought was is the pregnancy a molar pregnancy? Did they discuss that with you?
Because your levels dropped and then rose again that is puzzling - and wouldn't be the usual course of events for an ectopic pregnancy. However with molar pregnancies this can happen... It can also happen when there is some pregnancy still attatched to the uterine wall - the placental tissue continues to develop and thus the rise in HCG...

Sending you my love and support...

Oh Julie - I just wanted to come in here also and offer you my support and let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I am so very sorry that you are having to go through this and endure this amount of pain and heartache on top of everything else. I hope it all goes OK and that you can get back on track soon. Take care of yourself and be kind to yourself.

Thanks everyone - your support means so much to me.

Flowerchild - those are 2 likely scenarios - but if I understood everything (and I am not sure that I did as yesterday was a whirlwind), the D&C should be able to take care of it. I am really hoping that whatever it is, the D&C is the solution and the end to this saga.

Yes, a D & C will remove this tissue from both scenarios - sometimes the treatment involved for a molar pregnancy is a little more involved post d&C. I think you are doing thre right thing in having the curettage. Until then try and imagine that uterus as clear and I send lots of positivity and love to you as you go through this...

Thank you...I was doing ok until I googled molar pregnancy - I really, really hope this is just left over tissue. I want to wake up after the surgery and have this all behind me.
