Laurin - I'm so sorry, it's such a terrible situation to be in... I know all too well and have been in your exact position. From my experiences, you have a few options and you'll really need to talk to a doctor about them and work out what's best for you. Do you have another doctor you could see? As someone else mentioned, you could always go down the your local emergency department.. that's what I did for my last loss and they were able to schedule a D&C for me the following day.

From my experience your options are: 1. to just wait and let nature do it's thing. Unfortunately this can sometimes take quite a few weeks and there's no way to know when it will happen. Sorry if tmi but there will be quite a lot of bloody and sometimes it can be quite painful, it just depends on the person. 2. I think you can be given medication to help speed the process up but from what I know, that can make it even more painful but it will happen faster. 3. You can go in and have a D&C, which is surgery but it's very quick and pretty much painless.

I've had three D&C's in total and as horrible as it is to have surgery, for me, I just couldn't bear to wait any longer and the proceedure for me was painless, with only some light spotting for a few days after the proceedure.

It's such a difficult time and you need to do what's right for you.

Take care and be kind to yourself.
