    Why are you crying Mummy?

How do you tell a 5 year old that you are crying because:

    1. Today, exactly one year ago you had a scan that showed a healthy bean dancing on the screen. I remember the date exactly because it was the day before my mums birthday and I remember how excited I was. Little did I know what was to come.

    2. My due date for the next loss is only days away.

    3. I had planned to have my 20 week scan this week.

Recurrent miscarriage sucks. I had to wipe away the tears and tell him mummy is sad because she misses his baby brothers and sisters who are in Heaven.

I am so sorry DG, it isnt fair. I have said that a thousand times and it really never seems enough. You handled the answer beautifully with your DS. What a lovely caring little boy you are raising

I think what you told him is perfect. Honest, age appropriate, and showing him that having feelings, crying and missing your babies is ok.

What a beautiful and kind little man you've raised ...

    Thinking of you xo

I agree with the others - you handled it was grace and honesty - and if it helps, it is 'good' for children to see their parents emotional and to watch how their parents handle those feelings in healthy ways. You have shown him that feelings are 'okay' and that is SO important.
