Tegan - thats exactly what Jenna was doing until all of a sudden she just got it. Not sure why, not sure how, but it just all clicked.
Once she had the wees sussed, (about 2 days or so) we moved onto the poos, and she got choccy as a bribe to go poos on the potty/toilet. One poo later and 1 piece of choccy, and she had that sussed too.
We didn't drive TTing, she just wanted to do it, and actually now out of all the girls we know that are TTing (only about 3-4 in her age group) she is by far the most in tune with her body needs. I think its mostly a physiological thing, not mental or emotional. I'm sure for some kids the urges are stronger than for others, so once they learn how to tie in the urges with the actual weeing, it clicks for them.
Lily might only be a week or so away from it all clicking. And in the meantime you might want to get a seat for in the toilet In the days before Jenna "got it" I spent many a time in there singing to her, sometimes feeding Hamish
