Jambin has had a red ring-shaped rash around his anus for the last few weeks. I had always assumed it was nappy rash, even though it's so close to his anus that the nappy wouldn't actually touch that part of his skin.
Then, last night, I was reading Pinky's '100 ways to calm the crying' and she mentions a red ring around the anus as being a possible sign of food allergies.
We are having difficulties with breastfeeding at the moment, weight loss, and major unsettledness, which the paed thinks may be reflux. So Pinky's comment has got me wondering if there might be other issues at play.
Cherie, considering the troubles you've had, it wouldn't hurt to look into it further, and if nothing comes of it, then you've at least ruled out one possibility.
Just remember that it takes at least 3 weeks for the cows milk protein to leave your system. So make sure you cut it out of your diet for long enough before reintroducing it.
