Ok Well i went to my first AP session yesterday morning and it was ok... Not really what i was expecting (i'll just copy and paste what i typed in my ttc thread)
AP was ok yesterday... Actually i dunno (lol) the guy just didnt seem to be what i expected iykwim which was kinda disappointing.... his ofice (if u would call it that) seemed very dodge and i just felt uncomfy .. So i went on the hunt for a new AP which is a local and i actually went into the office to see how it looked (i just called the place i went to yesterday to book an appt)( i know its not what the office looks like and all that but anyway) and they seem fantastic there... Also the lady that i talked to was preg so thats gotta be a good thing huh lol
I told her i was having a LAP done at the end of the month and she told me to wait till after the lap then start AP so now im soooooooo confused
What do u guys think i should do... am i just wasting money before the lap ?????
I guess i just want to do the right thing - Sorry that i rambled on abit
I actually just came in here to ask the EXACT same question! I'm having a lap in 4 weeks and I'm considering AP for the pain and cramping. I also get migraines. I'm keen to hear if I should wait until after the lap as well.
OK well, I survived my first AP app. and as I'm in a similar position, I mentioned about having a laproscopy. The AP didn't seem to be concerned about the procedure (lap), only the effects on the body.
The only reason for waiting is, if there is something medically wrong, it may need fixing and quite possibly you would be wasting your money.(as i probably did)
The AP suggested I have a HSG and a scan (less invasive than a lap) to make sure my tube wasn't blocked.
Sandy - thanks hun .... yeah thats the impression i got too talking to my new AP (well the one im going to after my lap) that if its a medical problem im probably just going to waste my money doing AP
I really cant wait to start AP again.... it was such a weird feeling coming out of my first session..... very relaxing
I'm going to wait to go to the AP because I don't even know what my diagnosis is yet. My lap is on 21st November and once I know more about what is wrong I will be armed with more information. I'm looking forward to it though!
If it helps any ... i had a Lap about 4years ago and it was the easiest OP i've ever had ... if i were to have one again it wouldn't faze me do go through it again !!
My only advice is that i had it on a Wed morn and went back to work on the Mon morn, ... had stitches taken out that Mon morn before work and got to work feeling sick and ended up going straight back home and to the GP that arvo with a fever. But all turned out fine But i truely needed an extra day and my surgeon (Gyno) & GP did originally recommend 7 days off
But anyone else might be fine with a shorter period off work (depends on your kind of work too i guess ... as my job was standing on my feet all day) ???
The op is on a Friday and I have the following Monday and Tuesday off. I've told the person filling in for me that I may need the rest of the week, depending on how I feel. My work is pretty flexible so I should be ok to just go back when I feel ready.
I guess it's the "unknown" factor that worries me. I'm pretty good with pain - I'm more worried about what they find and how bad it is.
I'm a stay at home mum so not sure how it will affect me.... my LAP has been moved to this wednesday (so nervous about it ) dp is having wednesday and thursday off work but cant have anymore then that so im hoping ill be fine
A question abt AP im hoping someone can help..... After my LAP should i wait a few months /cycles to start ap... see if i can get a bfp??? Or should i start ap up this next cycle???
Hi Girls,
I decided to go along with the Lap and am booked in for next tuesday. looking forward to hearing how you both get along. I have an ap appointment booked in on Sat. I'm thinking of ringing to see if there is any point in me going. I'll let you both know what she says.
