Baby Baths??

I was lucky and was given a set of drawers which has the bath under the change table. It's fantastic. I'm very glad I've got it as already I'm having shoulder pain from lugging my little boy around. If you are prone to any back or shoulder pain I'd say it's worth the investment.

We bought a moulded bath as well - one side is for newborns and the other is for toddlers and we still use it to save water but really she is a bit big for it now!
It was fabulous for when she was a baby, but the thing that Jodi got would do the trick - give you a free hand, and bubs feels supported! We also used a towel on the dining room table until she was bigger and splashed too much and we now put the baby bath in the big bath.
We are about to buy a big basic bath to use for Izzy, mainly to save water!

I brought a bath and change table for dd3 who is 4 weeks old now and love it. It goes over the house bath and it up high the bath still fits my 5 year old in it sitting up. Google little bear and you will find it well worth the money wish had brought with first dd.

I have the $12 target bath as well- actually, I think it works great! I put it in the big bath and use it for Peter with my hand under his head. Maybe something about the height of our bath, but it doesn't strain my back to lean over and hold him.

I just wanted to add that I very often take baths with Peter and we both love it so much! Most nights we are in the bath together. The skin/skin contact is really good for them and they love it. And its so relaxing! Its not always practical, but I encourage trying it!

We have the bath with a stand with wheels and the drain hose. My mum gave it to us and we thought it was a bit of a silly idea to begin with however we used it until DD was 2 years old so it certainly was worth it! When DD was a baby we would wheel it into the lounge to bath her as it was warmer. Then we could wheel it elsewhere to drain onto the graden or into the nappy bucket.

It really depends on how your house is set up etc but it really saved my back and also enabled us to reuse the water a lot more easily. The stand is foldable so it is packed away at the moment until #2 comes along but we will definitely be using it again.

In Big W today i saw a baby bath and stand for $44.00 does that sound expensive or about right?

We bought a TummyTub and i am sooooo glad that we did spend the extra $$ for it.

Its basically a glorified bucket in which your baby sits in, but it means that i can bath MJ in the lounge room where it is warmer.
She loves sitting in it and splashing around.

It uses minimal water too so is great for the environment.
You can put it on a table so it is higher up if you like.

The only concern i had was that she would not be use to larger bodies of water, but occasionally will bath with her Daddy and loves it and is one of the most relaxed babies at the pool, so no worries there.

I think it was about $50, but i can tell you that it isvery worth while money spent as we have used it nearly every day

My husband has found the Tummy tub on the net, and he's really keen to get one. No-one seems to be selling them second hand :-(

Do you think the stand for it would be helpful, (althoug it's $90!) or are you happy to bathe your little girl with the TT directly on the floor?

Great to hear the Tummy Tub works & is as good as it sounds, I love the idea of it!!

I also like the idea of the bath/change table for protecting my back. Have heard that the ones that 'pull out' on wheels from the change table bit are better than the lift back lid as you can then use the bath and change table without having to 'close the lid'.

I also saw this inflatable bath when I was shopping online one day & book marked it for future reference. I figured it would be nice and light for setting up on table/bench & easy to transport/store by deflating.

I bought yesterday from Target ($22) an Infant Baby Bath Seat (the plastic white ones) and i'm so happy with it. Fits in the small baby plastic bath we bought aswell.... heard great things about them.

Thanks heaps for that Trish - what a great website - I'm in Greensborough so it's not too far .. I was thinking of a stand with wheels?? Not sure if overly necessary though - also does it have a drain plug and or hose?? -also not sure if that's completely necessary either - just a couple of things that my research has brought up!!!! - Thanks again
