i reckon it's good to have a bit of the newborn size happening as like you said, it is nice to have stuff that isnt always rolled up

In our case our DD1 was born at just under 6lbs at 38w1d and she was too small for the 0000s! so she was in hers for 3-4 months. but it does turn out that she is a tiny thing anyway.

whereas DD2 was born at 7.5lbs and was in the 0000s for the more standard 6 weeks-ish.
