We don't know what we're having so our theme is neutral.

The nursery was one of our spare bedroms so we have left the walls and curtains as they were (soft brown walls and brown, striped modern curtains - we're in a brand new home). We did this for two reasons: resale (as we plan on moving in the next few years) and I'm not really into pink/blue nurseries. I'd prefer to accessorise.

The nursery furniture is all Boori in a chocolate brown (as is our bedroom furniture and spare room bedroom suite).

The machester is 'Zoofari' by Lambs & Ivy - very cute and funky. They have lots of goodies to go with it such as lamps, mobile (which we bought also), growth charts, arm chairs and stuffed toys (we got the giraffe - so cute!) The machester is quite green so I'll accessorise with greens. The cover for the change table mat is a gorgeous, soft green KidsLine cover. Looks great with all the brown.

    Have fun!

When pregnant we chose to not know the sex of the bub ... so, i did the nursery room in * Nursery Rhymes themes * ... I found a pkt of removable wall transfers in the Baby Bunting shop that had all sorts of old fashioned nursery rhymes that i grew up with like Hickory D**kory Dock, Humpty Dumpty, Hey diddle diddle, ...

I found a lot of things on eBay when i just typed in Nursery Rhymes

After birth & then knowing we had a girl i then added a splash of Pink things here & there in her nursery room

DD is now 3 and she still has the wall transfers & her nursery rhyme lamp

good ideas so far girls! I like animal and farm themes but would like to do something a bit different. Seems there are a few people who decide to have a surprise baby too...
I have brown ish walls too and will keep it like that, mainly because I hate painting and the thought of painting make me cringe!
I have found a few things on ebay but the things I am after are so expensvie... guess I will keep looking.

My friend has stars and moon theme. It looks great.

With Darcy, we didn't find out her sex, so her walls were mint green with a levender argyle pattern that I marked out and painted on one wall.
We had the kidline Monterey Set which was unisex colours with diamonds and stars and all white furniture.
Nate inherited the set and the furniture sadly, but it actually looks better in his latte coloured room

Our nursery which was set up in our old house was a Noahs ark theme, it all stemmed from a beautiful noahs ark cot panel in Spotlight plus I liked that it was gender neutral, I bought some of the co-ordinating fabric to decorate cushions, lamp etc. I found ebay really helpful too buying book ends and mobile and friends bought a gorgeous print.

At the moment we are renting while we build so our daughter has a fairly neautral room but I will decorate her a real little girls room in lilac and will re-use all our noahs ark stuff for our little bubba

We didn't know the gender of our baby so decided on doing a brighter green colour and stars with white furniture, It all looked really nice with softer stuffed teddies etc of different colours.. If you have a look at walkk stickers etc as a few above have mentioned- you can find SO many different ones on Ebay aswell, really nice polka dots and cars and farm animals etc..

we didn't find out the sex of bub either and decided on a jungle theme. fortunately we own our house so i painted a massive baby jungle animals mural (in soft pastel colours) on half of a wall in the nursery. i drew it from a pic, but you could easily trace a pic. it cost me bout $60 in paint to do this but worth every cent and it turned out fantastic. i put a plain blue border up, and then just decorated it with the babies furniture. the rest of the room is white and i found the mural all i needed to brighten up the room.
