I think (from memory) that while the new bub is still needing to lie flat, the toddler seat goes on top at the front, but I'm not sure then whether you can put the toddler in the seat at the back, or if you need to have heaviest bub in the main part of the pram (IYKWIM?). Try googling phil and teds pram manual - you should be able to find it online to download.

Lol - sorry if that wasn't much help!

FYI - I just checked, and according to the P & T website (where I found the manual), the heaviest bub/toddler needs to be in the main part of the pram once you have the seat on the back of the pram...and you always put the heavier child in the main part of the pram first, and the lighter child in the rear seat second, and remove them in the reverse order (i.e. lighter child removed first).

You can download all manuals for all P & T products (including old models) from their website. Click on support at the top, then select the option about manuals.

    Good luck.
