I know what you mean Bekz about them looking suffocating.
I don't know that there would be a need to use them in QLD. I did use the big fluffy poly suits when i took DD to Adelaide, when she was about 4mths old it was July & quite cold there, but I can't recall using htem up here at all. With my DS2 (June baby) I used the Bonds suits & layered as needed.
I spotted some in BigW today on special... I am also put off by the fact that some of the cheaper ones feel nasty, kwim? For me I will be sticking to Bonds & layering
