Steelcraft Strider Plus

We just bought a Steelcraft plus a few hours ago and really love it. We were looking at a Phil and Teds but after watching clips and seeing it in action we decided against getting one. The Steelcraft is great because bub or toddler can face you. Also the bottom seat reclines as well as the top so both can sleep at once. Its easy to fold and the seats both come off which can make it easier for storing in the boot. Its really not as wide as people say. It is wider than the P&T but i find it great to push. It also comes with heaps of extras like a bag with drink holders to attach to the pram, a sleeping bag cover thing, a cushion insert for the top seat a storm cover which covers both seats and a sun shade. It cost us $708 which included the second seat (from baby bunting). Love how you can access the basket from the front and sides. The sun visors also pull down really far. You can unzip a section and they extend further with a mesh sunshade. Its fantastic. Im about to go out and buy the capsule to go with it as our brand new safe n sound unity doesnt fit it. Also for those that are thinking of buying a capsule i would HIGHLY reccomend it. It is sooooooooooooo good. Not a waste of money at all. Hope this helps.

I am currently looking at getting the Strider Plus and am trying to do as much research as possible before buying. I have a 6 year old who has cerebral palsy and can't walk, a nearly 3 year old (who prefers to walk than be in a pram) and bub is due in 9 weeks or so. We currently have the Phil & Ted and it has been great for the past 2.5 years (got it when our second was about 6 months. Had a side by side until #2 was sitting and started pulling her sisters hair!). I was initially thinking I would keep using the P&T and have bubby in a sling until it reached an age where it could sit in the back seat (my 6 year old is too big for the second seat on the P&T and the harness is different so doesn't hold her as well). I love the versatility of the Strider but am worried about the width, weight and ease of folding. I am used to pushing a wheelchair around so thinking the width won't bother me too much, but how easy is it to get in/out of the car? I love that my 6 year old (she is quite small- same size as my nearly 3 year old) can go in either seat and her feet wont get caught in the wheel like in the P&T. I love the look of the Strider and the options- just hesitating on ease and bulkiness. Any experiences greatly appreciated!

Sleepdeprived, I find it fairly easy to get in and out of the car boot (we have a sedan) and I'm pregnant. I remove the seat first, then fold the frame and put it all in separately. This just makes it a bit lighter and easier for me although you can fold the strider with both seats attached.

Hi All I have just purchased the new Strider Plus and although I love mine even if it has been sent back as I got a faulty one, if you have not purchased one yet and not in a hurry please wait and have a look at the new Jogger City Select I just has a look and boy is it nice, not sure of the price but not a bulky as the Strider Plus but does the same thing this is going to give steelcraft a real competion when it comes out in Feb/March 2010.

Sleepdeprived- I have a ford falcon sedan with a gas tank in the boot and the Strider Plus still fits in perfectly. Just have to take the wheels off which is very simple. The mudguards also come off. I love how you can take both seats off and put everything in the boot seperately. Makes it much lighter to lift that way. The Strider i was told is 13 kg in weight. I would highly reccommend this pram. Hope this helps.

I agree Sleepdeprived I love the strider Plus without a doubt just thought I would let others know that maybe dont have much room that there is a new style coming out that was all.
