    Strollers

Hi I'm wondering what stroller to buy.
I have Swallow Beema Q Pram but it's going in tomorrow to get the folding button fixed and they haven't got any loaner prams atm.So I'm going to have to buy one in the next couple of days as I won't have my pram back for about 2 weeks and we are going away next weekend.
I have been starting to think about buying a stroller but I'm not sure what to get.

    I'm after 1 that
    a) fully reclines so bub can lay flat when he's asleep
    b) isn't too heavy and
    c) priced up to $250 approx

Please let me know what brand you have, what you like/dislike about yours
    TIA

There aren't very many strollers that lay completely flat, most of them recline far enough back for your bub to sleep though. I have a Maclaren Quest which to be honest is the best stroller going around! I have a pre-loved baby goods business so I have tried many different brands out and they just don't compare to the Maclaren for steering and ease of use. They are quite pricey though (I'm not sure how much they cost these days, I bought my 2nd hand from eBay).

Some other good brands are Steelcraft, Valco and Mothers Choice. When looking for a stroller, make sure that the handles are high enough for you, you don't want to be bending down when pushing your bub. Put your bub in the stroller to check how easy it is to steer. Make sure it is easy to collapse. Also check the basket underneath that it is easy to reach and if you can actually fit something like your handbag in it. Some strollers have baskets that are almost unusable. Also check how heavy the stroller is, mine is nice and light.

I have over the past few months bought a Steelcraft Profile stroller. It is absolutely brilliant! I also have a Phil & Ted but was starting to get a bit heavy for me to lift in and out of the car while pregnant, and just wanted something smaller to move around when i need to duck into the shops quickly. It is pretty light weight. It lays pretty flat to me. Not completely flat but the flattest position has only a very slight incline. The seat section has HEAPS of room, which ive found others dont, esp being DS is quite big now. There is a pouch on the back for you to put your keys or phone or whatever. A basket underneath. The hood folds out really fas so when theyre asleep they have a bit of cover from the light.
Reason also i liked this one is if DS is in a stroller that doesnt have a bar across the front, he thinks thats an invitation to get out. But you can also remove the bar if you wish.
I havent found anything bad with it as yet to be honest and definately recommend it.

I just have a Target stroller to use at the beach (it was an absolute bargain, and it certainly does the job) but when I get one for home, I'm thinking of getting a Maclaren as EVERYONE I know who has one absolutely LOVES IT! Apparently there is no comparison LOL.

Given that Sage is still little, and you're going to use it for awhile, I'd be inclined to get one that you know will be really good, and last the distance. Like I said, I've only heard fantastic things about Maclaren strollers

    ETA yours sounds good Kellx!

i had a childcare brand for my first two it layed as flat as a stoller can and was great, this time around i am getting the stelecraft profile as it has a front bumper and that was the only down side with my first one. The only reason i am getting a new one is the other is 8 years old and warn out from use. the profile is costing me 170 the childcare cost me 8 years ago 110 so not to bad in price.

Ok I know they are xcy but I third the Maclaren! If I was having my time over - I would get the Maclaren Techno and use it from birth as it lays flat back and wouldn't bother with a pram at all. I have the Quest which we used from 4 mths, and really before that we carried her alot anyway and we now use it every day! Our Quest was $239 on sale, and the Techno is a bit more than that. You can get some good bargains on ebay but they do keep their value really well, so they don't tend to even go for half price and I have heard of others that sell for more than people paid!! Good luck with it all - big investment but totally worth it and resale is great too so you can always get your value back if you decide to sell it.
