what do you think of the Bugaboo prams?

Its totally a personal chioce! We love our bugaboo and we didnt buy it cause of the celebrity status( no offence taken)! At the time it was the most convential pram for us! Came standard with a bassinette and seat, very light weight and can be customised for your personal taste!

I must say it has become a bit of an addiction like mcns buyin the different toppings etc!
Things i love about it are -light weight
- easliy adjustable
- handle bar that lengthens, i have long legs and hit them on almost all pram bases
- differnt colours in know this doesnt really matter but i love it!
- bubs can face you or face out, very important in my books
- very easy to steer, i use one hand sometimes!

Hope this helps a lil. There are a number of similar ones out there which do look the same so maybe test them out!

Hi puppies we have a bugaboo and i must say it is the best thing i have ever bought. Absolutely love it. I bought mine second hand for $500 i have the bugaboo frog have heard there was a few issues with the camelon. I would totally recommend getting one, they are very light weight and easy to wheel, easy to fold etc. I bought mine from my sister as she moved overseas and didnt have room to take it and now she has a bill and ted and she regrets getting rid of the bugaboo. If you dont mind buying one second hand check out ebay they have a few on there and also the accessories.

Babies Galore in Sydney have them in stock if you want to see them up close. David Jones have them in stock as well.

A cheaper alternative is the Steelcraft Strider.

When I got pg I had seen them in all the mags and thought, "that's the pram I want". Not because the celebs have them, but it just looked good and seemed to have all the things I needed in a pram.
I was pretty disappointed when I saw it in the store and immediately made a beeline for the SC strider which is quite similar looking and nearly died when I saw the price diff between those two. So I ended up with the strider.

MY DF says that prams that cost that much are for women who hate their husbands.

No offence anyone, but it was just kinda funny coming from a bloke!

I do think they look great but c'mon, $1500+?? If you have that kinda of money then go for it, but unless you have money to splurge i think you can get a much better buy.

If its celebrity status you are after have a look at the rockstar brand pram (its even endorsed by Jon Bon Jovi!! woo hoo!!!!! LOL!!) It does actually look like quite a good pram though.

EDIT- I still have my peg perego from DD and its still in excellent condition, so they certainly stand the test of time too ( used to walk at least an hour each and everyday with her in it till she was about 4 and a half).

Otherwise i'd buy the rocstar "baby infinity" i think - you can get a red one! $299.00

I've seen those prams, even on ebay brand new. I didnt know they were endorsed by Jon Bon Jovi!! Too funny!
They do look good though & alot cheaper than bugaboo.

These are the reasons why I love my Bug!!!

• The pram is very light, 8-9kg, with each component is less than 5kg, there isn't one that matches it weight for weight with all the plus's below.
• Easy to steer, even one handed
• Once you know how to fold and un-fold, it one easy movement, quick and simple
• The bassinett or seat clicks in - simple
• The large tyres are inflatable - one of the big negatives about the Strider - crappy on any surface other than nice flat smooth pavements, I take my Bug "off road!!!"
• Hunt around for a good deal. The RRP was $1599, I got 10% off plus an $150 instore voucher I could used for anything - I bought Bug accessories
• We use it as our bassinett for bubs, until she is big enought to go into her cot (which hasn't arrived yet anyway), she was early, and atm is 2.8kg, and doesn't even take up a third of the bassinet
• Who gives a crap about status symbols, I bought it for so many other reasons then who else had one.
• It fits in the back on my hatch - with the bassinett, I just unclip it!
• If you want to make it more compact, you can take the big wheels off very easily - this pram doesn't require a degree inrocket science to use it!!
• You can take it through the snow and the sand, great for us we love both
• The adjustable handle length, DH is quite a bit taller than me!
• Some complain about the storage bag being difficult to get to with the bassinet on it - yes it is, but damn I can still get a lot in there and it isn't that bad!!
• The wheel base isn't as wide as a lot of the three wheelers, I can easily navigate the baby around
• Turning circle of a pinhead - amazing
• We can even use our Angel Care sound and movement monitor in it

We wanted to by one pram the would last us a long time, the best investment I have ever made.
I have a friend who wanted one and didn't end up getting one, bought an Emmmaljunga, it was too heavy and difficult to steer, then bought a BeamerQ also a Quinny and is now looking at another pram, should have just bought the Bug to start with would have saved a fortune
