Can you take it out to your car and see if it fits? That's what we were encouraged to do at our local baby shop.
Just wondering how bulky this is?
We currently have a turn-a-tot which i have been told although convenient is one of the bulkiest carseats on the market.
We have a subaru impreza sports wagon and DD1 kicks the back of my seat as i am quite tall, is there more leg room for her with the maxi-rider????
Prob silly questions but i am going to buy one tomorrow and TBH i find the staff at the baby shops are hopeless, they say yes this will fit, no that wont fit etc etc basically to get you to buy the damn thing then you put it in and it's not at all what it seemed.
I have also found some are not quite up on the new laws which i find STUPID..
So if anyone can help b4 tomorrow... TIA.

I have 4 of these........having 4 kids and all. They are very wide car seats....in our back row of our chrysler voyager, whilst it should fit 3 people across, with the two MR AHR there is no way a third person would fit. Very, very wide.....but IMO the best car seat around that will do for a child from 8kgs to 7yrs of age....
GL...
I would but we have 2 carseats in there and i'm one of those freakish people that doesn't move them once they are professionaly fitted, IF i took it out i would be so paranoid.. UNLESS there is a spot free for the guy to fit it tomorrow and then i am happy to ask him if it fits and what he thinks...![]()
not sure it'd make much difference to the leg room ZF. Like mbear said they're quite bulky and sit up quite high, so I'm thinking your DD's legs will stick out over the edge as much as they already do.
The hipods are a bit slimmer I think??? (we have the MR too).
Thanks everyone, i have heard nothing but glowing reports about the Maxi Rider so am biting the bullet and going to buy it today.
Have also decided that once we decide to turn DD2 around we are not going to bother turning her seat around, i am just going to go and buy her one too and then sell our turn-a-tot.
Keep yourthe guy is working today to fit it, not sure i can wait until next week...

I don't know how true this is........but I went to buy DS1 a MR. After discovering that we didn't really need it right away (DS2 is in a capsule) the saleswoman at Baby Bunting suggested we hold off until we moved DS2 into the Meridian, as DS1 would be safer in the convertible seat until he was as close to 18kg as possible. She lost a sale that day, so I don't know why she would make it up. (Though I have since bought one and put it away for when we need it, I'm guessing DS1 will be about 15-16kg). Hey, I know the MR is safe from 8kg (although I personally can't imagine putting an 8kg bub in one), I guess it depends at what weight you turn your DD.
None of my business what you do, just thought I'd put it out there

Thanks hun... with DD1 the seat we have her in now the straps are level with her shoulders and thats the highest point so we have no choice really but i will see how safe n comfy it looks before i go getting one for DD2.. it does say from 6mths but i will ask the guy fitting them and see what he thinks aswell.
Oh yeah, I totally meant for your DD2Good luck today, good idea to ask the fitter!
ZF, we have a wrx and have a turn a tot for DD and DS is in the AHR maxirider behind the drivers seat. When DH drives, DS can't quite touch the back of the seat with his toes when he stretches his legs out. I'm shorter so have my seat forward and DS can't reach when I'm driving. DS is about 86cm so bit on the short side but even when he gets bigger I imagine there would still be plenty of leg room for him, he'll just be able to kick the seat lol
So yes there will be more leg room than the turn a tot and by far more room to actually get into the car seat.
Thanks so much everyone, we went and bought it yesterday, it gets fitted on Monday and DD1 has been sitting in it in the kitchen
It is def going to allow more leg room for her aswell so i can't wait to get it in. WOO HOO!
Eluned hun you have great taste in cars & car seats, great minds and all that... lol
