A line is a line UNTIL.......

......its on an internet cheapy hpt!!! Grrrr! Stupid me bought 20 strips for $4 or something ridiculously cheap. I dont know why I did it.. I remember reading on here so many times that they're not accurate.
When they arrived a few days ago I did 3 in a row, they all came up positive, I started getting a bit excited even though I knew I shouldnt be. I even did one test in water to see if a line would come and nope! no 2nd line.. so that got me more excited.. until I went out and bought a FR so I cld really find out.. no matter how hard I looked at that test (or the next 2 after that..) no 2nd line appeared
How can they make such dodgy tests that dont give a correct result!! i know.. i know.. u get what u pay for..

Deep down in my heart I knew I wasnt pregnant, gosh im still breastfeeding right around the clock and af still hasnt returned, but there was a part of me that had started dreaming about the future and thinking 'maybe, just maybe, we have concieved a baby somehow!' But nope we havent. I keep thinking to myself what if the FR is wrong and the ebay tests pick up lower hcg levels?! I know that FRs are way more reliable then those cheap ones though.

Bloody stupid tests!!!!! It was lovely 'being pregnant' for those couple days though... Ill just keep gazing at those 'positive' tests wishing for them to come true.....

I've always had the best results with internet cheapies. Last pregnancy I used 30 hpts. 25 internet cheapies - ALL positive. The 2 doctors hpts - negative. three FR - negative. Even a blood test - negative. (but the cheapies kept being positive over this time). That was baby number 4.

ETA: I lied, I also done a digital test after all that (it was driving me crazy) and it came up positive

I got a BFP with a FR with Amelia, but no lines showed up on my Internet cheapies until after I'd had my blood test and knew for sure I was pregnant

On the flip side, I got a false positive with a digi test (I swing between thinking it was a false positive and an early miscarriage though)

Any chance they supplied you with OPKs instead of HPTs? OPKs are usually cheaper than HPTs.

I had a similar experience to TeniBear with my last BFP - didn't get a (very faint) BFP on the ICs until 13dpo and by that stage the FRER was clear as day. I was disappointed by the lack of sensitivity of the tests. I buy a different brand now, but haven't had another BFP to test them on... *sigh*

Which Brand did you buy. I normally buy the oracle fertility tests off ebay, and would vouch for them.

I got a very faint positive last cycle with an lc. Definitely not pregnant as I have AF now.
I'm sorry it got your hopes up hun. It hurts so much when you find out it was false.

Im sorry you are going through this. I have got some in the cupboard to use, im currently in the TWW so havent used them yet. Mine are the window ones and where a bit more exensive than that but now Im worried a false positive would be really hard.
FX that you get a positive on the other ones soon

I second this, although I have only used OPK's. But any other brand gives me false positives because of my PCOS.

I love Internet cheapies! Used them to detect most of my pregnancies with little issue.

I used a notoriously unreliable brand for this pregnancy, got a +ve 4 days after AF was due. Never tested with anything else, definitely pregnant though!

I use the internet cheapies, with a double check with FRER, never had a false positive. With this pregnancy I tested the day AF was due with cheapie then the next day with FRER. I'm sorry you feel so disheartened about the whole thing

It was actually the oracle ones that I was disappointed in. I didn't think they were sensitive at all.
