Michelle, I know it sucks when family don't care :hug:. I also know it's very small comfort, but you have your BB family who do care very much. :hug:
I have a sick little boy on my hands. Poor bugger. Seems that me and DH are also getting it - so not what we need right now!

Michelle, I'm so sorry that family are making this harder than it needs to be right now :( :hug: I hear you, I really do, and it sucks. I am so sad that you are going through this.........I wish I could give you an IRL hug. As for little people picking up on the tension........understanding that one too ;). It's tough, that's for sure, but you can only do what you can do - they will not be affected in the long term by what happens over these few days. Just being there with lots of cuddles for them will help. Hang in there lovely, not long to go now :hug:
I am getting lots of cuddles from the little ones. They seem to need the contact as much as me ;) And I know my family love me but far out - how hard is it to make a *@*$#$%* phone call. Just once get over your own inability to *cope* and call me :angry: Particularly when you will be here tomorrow for most of the week INCLUDING result day :wall: They are probably just waiting to see me rather than call me but my goodness that is not what I need right now and it is going to make for one interesting visit. They did this during the infertility process and it took a long time to forgive that one. The IL's called DH yesterday. Why does my family (including my sister) have to be soooooooooooooooooooooooooo self absorbed that I don't warrant a phone call??
Again, just venting ;) DH doesn't need this on top of everything else. He has picked up the kiddie stuff today and is up bathing them at the moment. He is one very special man. I think I need to hit something but I am banned from vigorous exercise for 2-3 days :rolleyes: Meditate, meditate, meditate before I consider the desire to decapitate ..........
Your right Michelle, its about thier inability to cope, and they probably dont realise that their inaction is hurting you more :hug: to and DH. Vent away hun, yes id say you should meditate rather than decapitate, but I understand, maybe some fresh air would do you all good. Thinking of you...
Oh Michelle, I'm so sorry they haven't phoned, I completely agree though, they probably just don't know what to say or how to act, but still, you'd think they would put themselves out there - especially for their own daughter. I'm glad Caitlyn is around & glad the Little People are giving you heaps of cuddles as well. I'm so sorry you're going through this, but in 3 days time you're going to have the biggest, hugest grin on your face my friend & this day of tears will be a distant memory!
It must be the day for meltdowns, I have had a HUGE one today. It's been coming for a couple of days now, maybe even a little over a week, but boy did I let the floodgates open today. I couldn't tell you the last time I cried like this. The last time the kids MADE me cry like this. They have been absolute royal brats. Alan phoned & I cried my heart out down the phone to him & I felt horrible, but I just couldn't stop. I can't even growl at them because I am just crying too much, I hate it. My eyes look just sensational & everytime I stop crying & get on with something, it starts all over again.
Hoping a good night's sleep stops it.

Michelle, no great words of wisdom dear lady, but I certainly understand how you feel re. lack of understanding from family. I really get peeved when people need to make your stuff about them - yep, get over it, it's about me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! More fool them, but they are your family - but I would let them know you felt hurt by their lack of contact, you could have really just done with a kind word at the very least.
It's been such a huge time for you, and I think post-amnio is on the one hand such a huge relief/relese, but now on the other hand you are stressed waiting for the results, and still running through all the scenarious in your heart and head. I'm so glad and you are very lucky to have the love and support of your DH. We are all with you hon during this really b.oody difficult time.

I have family here so haven't been able to pop in much, but finally have a chance. DD had a lovely birthday yesterday, my parents arrived just in time and she is loving her trampoline that we bought her. DS had a shocker of a night last night, barely slept at all so I can commiserate with those of you also not getting enough sleep.
I have just figured out what I need to do to get an avatar and am thinking of what to get. So exciting! BW - love your new avvy. Sorry to hear Sam is sick, I hope he gets better soon.
Michelle - thinking of you love. I know this wait must be so stressful and your family sound like they are just making things worse. And I hate how kids always pick up on stress and make things even worse!
megsmum - I think that was lovely of you to share your experience with your DD with Deb. It must be hard for you to cope with it not knowing exactly how it will affect her. Sounds like you are doing a wonderful job.
spring - thanks for the encouragement re coping with 2 kids, I hope it gets easier for me soon! I am sure I will work it out, I just need to get a routine sorted. Thankfully DD has been a little angel so far which is really helping. You reminded me of my uni days describing what you used to get up to! I did Law too so maybe there is something in the drunk lawyer thing as Janie said?!
Janie - so glad to hear that the last CTG went well, it sounds like you are coping really well and things are sounding up.

Well - not being one for subtlety I rang my parents. They don't really have an excuse :rolleyes: except for minor flooding of the back room from the rain, a leaking roof and needing to dry everything before coming down for the week. Still not happy and Dad knows that. I told him how insignificant I felt :( After many tears he is at least aware of how I feel and although they have no real excuse they are MORE than aware of how hurt I am. It gives me fresh air for the week with them.

Im glad you cleared the air with your parents Michelle; I am another with sucky family so all I can do is throw yet more :hug: at you. Also; if you feel the need for some non-family company I am childless tues and thurs so only a phone call away! PLEASE please dont hesitate to do it ok? I would love to wile away some time in de-nile with you ;) If you can abscond from resting and maybe even brave enough to let your parents watch the kidlets we could even see..................a movie..........yes I know I said a bad word :o.
Well even though the mood is sombre in here I thought I would share some random good news with the group; not totally related to any of us but good news nonetheless and we need a lift of some sort. My MILs oncologist has told her he is 99% sure the breast cancer is done and dusted! She has her last chemo on the 18th then starts hormone therapy; then she can go about life as normal and is oh so anxiously awaiting her hair to grow back. We're relieved to hear this news; even though she was given a great prognosis at the start there is still always that black cloud with cancer that lingers until your treatments done and they can make a decision about your outcome.
I was going to attempt personals but seeing as its 10pm I might actually go to bed on the off-chance that the boys decide sleep isnt for the weak..........hope we all have a good nights sleep!

Michelle - thats good you let the oldies know how you feel - even if nothing changes, makes you feel a bit better to offload those thoughts.

Well the storm is over! We got 24 inches of snow in 12 hours. It was hell digging out. We lost power for 24 hours in freezing conditions. AF of course decided to show up while shoveling snow :(

On the up - DH and I went to see Avatar 3D today which was fabulous for many reasons. Aunty M had the kids even though she was soooooooo hung over from a wedding the night before :lol: My best friend is such a gem!!!
Bek/Freya: I've done ww a million times so this time I've got my books out and. I'm doing it at home. I've really struggled today with my hunger but I am very over weight, much more than either if you so I'm determined to get hot before my 30th later this year.
Inanna: I'm worried about J to. Hopefully she pops in and it is all ok. Should go to bed. Both boys have been asleep since 7 so I should make the mostbof it.

Not at all Michelle :). Was going to post earlier, but it was all coming out sounding like a massive whinge so i just closed the page ;). Spring, when is your bday? I am 30 pretty soon, 8 weeks today (i just counted lol)! I am feeling very positive about spending it at home with both of our kids :D
Janie and Spring - you guys are making me feel so old! I'm coming up to 35 very soon and just not coping with the idea that I can no longer get away with "early 30s".

Well I'm happy to report that I lost 3.5kgs this week. Long way to go but I'm pretty happy with that.

AFM: Sorry i havent been posting much the last few days, DF ended up coming home for the weekend, so we just spent time together. I'm going to head to my dr to pick up the forms at lunch time when Sophie has a nap as its raining here and i dont want to take her out in it if possible, so my younger sisters boyfriend will keep an eye on her and i should be back by the time she wakes up as i only need to get some blood taken.
Feeling very nervous today. I just want it all to go well, and be able to say that I'm off to do the same in another week. We're not having the scan until 3.30pm, and then Ob after that, so will be quite late home. Might even have dinner at mum's. I will try to post quickly after the scan while we're waiting for Max, but if not I will text someone and they can update for me :). Thanks for all your kind wishes :hug:

Goodness me, some of you are spring chickens LOL I'm another one staring down the barrel of the big 4-0 and let me tell you, some mornings after no sleep I feel every day of it! But not today, E slept for 6 hours last night - her best ever! I feel like a new woman :)

Well I'll be 43 this year (August)! I actually don't think it matters lineal age. It's what happens. It's what you do with those years that counts! It's what you learn, what you bring to the table & how well you live life...
40 is the new 30 - or so they say! I don't know where all my years have gone!
I actually think I could be old enough to be some member's mother!!!! Now that's scary!
I was driving past this ove 50's village the other day & my DD7 said: "mummy that looks like a nice place what is it?"... I explained it was an over 50's retirement village - for old people. Then I suddenly did the math & realised I could get in there in another 7 or so years! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!
Deb - I'm sorry, but your post made me laugh!
Lisa - I hope DS has the same reaction as your DD, he starts FDC for the very first time next Monday, I think I am more nervous than he will be.

AFM - has anyone had thyroid issues? My antibodies are up and I'm back seeing my endocrinologist and I'm not sure what this means for the baby.
Janie - Good luck today hun... and I'm still waiting on a call for help!!!! The trip out to pick up your layby doesn't count as I'm always out there anyway!!!! LOL.
Michelle - Big hugs and best of luck getting your results.. I'm praying they are ok but whatever happens we're here for you and will support you no matter what!!

Sorry, I haven't had a chance to really catch up on everything, so won't even attempt any more personals!! It's been busy in here while I was away.
AFM - We're back from a lovely weekend in Geelong. DH sucessfully completed another half ironman and I'm so proud of him... it's such a big achievement. He's done two of them now and will do another on back in Perth in May!! Crazy stuff. He wasn't overly happy with his time of 5 hours and 6 minutes (can any of you even imagine racing for that long.. he's just nuts) but I'm proud as it was a really tough course!! DS started going a little nuts by the end of it.. it was hard work but it was still really nice to get away for a couple of days. We stayed in a caravan park (in a little chalet) and Luke made some friends that he had so much fun running around the park with. It was just adorable and I'm loving the family feel that the caravan park had!! We need to do that more often I think.
Nothing else going on.. not looking forward to this week.. DH is away quite a lot and back in Perth tomorrow, which I hate coz i wanna be there too but it's just too hard for a couple of days. I hate being here without him though. He starts uni again tonight too.. but thankfully it's his VERY LAST unit, so he'll be done in May!!! I can't beleive it.
Anyway I'm rambling about crap now so will go. Still holding out hope of a BFP at some stage in the next week or two but it would be a complete miracle. It's hard not to think about it.

AFM: I've been and had the 1st blood test as my dr put progressive on the form (i love him), the lady was dracula's sister though :lol: but she was quick so i cant complain. The hospital sends their results overnight to my doctor so if i ring after 2pm tomorrow i should have the results. I also got the form to have another ultrasound and will have that done sometime next week.
Any ideas when i should have the follow-up blood test?? My doctor said in a week's time when i spoke to him on Friday but the pathology lady said they should be doubling in 48hrs so should i go back sometime this week instead of waiting until next Monday?
Absolutely go back in 48 hours from when you had the first test my love. It is a very positive sign to have a result that doubles (or very close to it) within 48 hours. Good luck! :hug:

Lisa - WTG Miss A on daycare!! It took two months for me to get DD settled into her daycare so I think that is very impressive!

I am happy to report that J has sleep reasonably well for a newborn for the last two nights. He has been waking for feeds at 1.30 and then 4.30am and after a LONG time burping him, he goes back to sleep without too much trouble. So far he is much easier than DD was, but she was a very difficult refluxy baby. He has grown so much already I can hardly believe it! I am loving having Mum and Dad around, they are heaps of help, but am not sure how I will cope when they go home in a week! Then I will really be on my own - no more visitors. I am still very very sore from the birth, actually it feels worse than it did a couple of weeks ago and I don't feel like I will ever be normal down there again. Still haven't typed up my birth story but I am hoping to in the next few days if I get the chance.
Good ctg in record time, we're off to a good start :D
