Willow I'd maybe distance myself just a little bit and see what happens. Like Jayne said are your kids really good friends? If so just let it slide a bit or think of a clever but not nasty comment back kwim? I really don't think people should pass judgement on others but I know that's easier said than done and tbh I think those types of comments are very harsh and rather nasty. Anyway that probably hasn't helped at all
Kelly Thinking of you hun and am hoping like crazy that little bub of yours is doing all the right things tomorrow at your scan
Jayne I'm sure you're all going to have a wonderful time away. Can't wait to hear all about it when you get home.
kelly, thinking of you tomorrow. I hope everything looks great.
Willow, Those are some very nasty comments. I guess with any friendship there are going to be some things you don't really like about the other person. If she has been kind to you and your family I don't think it is something to avoid her over. Just let her know in your own way that you don't care to talk about people like that. I think if you let her know in a respectful way that you will remain friends.
AFM, It was really low BP making me dizzy. It was 100/64 yesterday after wrestling with Grayson in the waiting room for a half hour. I am starting some progesterone gel to help keep my cyst under control. If it gets too big I will be in lots of pain again and I would like to avoid that. I decided that I was going to make a ticker! I thought that it would help me stay more positive. 3 weeks until my next ultrasound.

Laney - Good on you for doing a ticker!!! You're only a few days ahead of me... although that will probably change today as my dates are always A LOT different when I go for a scan... which just stresses me out even more! I wish I had the courage to do a ticker... maybe in another 10 days time I'll do one! Thanks for thinking of me.
Mako - Thanks for everthing too.. under the circumstances you've been amazing to me and I know it's still hard for you, so thank you so much. You're incredible and I wish I could take some of the pain away. Hugs.
Willow - Hmmm, that's a tough one. I agree with the others and have no time for horrible, nasty comments like that but at the same time, if the kids are playing well together maybe its something you can just ignore. I agree with Jayne though, I'd just make a basic comment next time she says something nasty.. nothing horrible, just a little "oh.. I don't think so" and then change the subject quickly... or even just change the subject when she says things like that.. hopefully then she'll get the idea that you don't want to be a part of the nasty comments she's making. Like you said, you don't have to be best friends but it's nice to have someone to talk to when you're dropping the kids off at school and maybe it's not worth destroying that yet.
Well... first of the scan days today and I'm quitely crapping myself. Although this is the scan that's usually fine... always measures behind dates (which will stress me even more this time as I used opk's so kind of know when I O'd). Anyway, it's usually all fine at this scan, bub is there, strong heart beat and all that, so hopefully I have nothing to worry about just yet. It's the next scan in 10 days time that is the really scary one. My problem is, 10 days time is a Saturday, so I'm going to try and make the scan for the Friday, 9 days time, surely one day isn't going to matter too much. then I see my ob in another 10 days after that. Wow... how am I going to get through all this. Good thing is that boobs have grown (which I just love as I don't have much), I'm feeling a bit yuck from time to time and I'm really tired. Although I had some of those symptoms last time so who knows. Hopefully the asprin is working.
Also have the MIL here, which is great... Luke's LOVES it and she'll make me rest up!! Will try and post this avo after my scan... it's at midday!
Laney Love your ticker hun. I hope your cyst stays under control and pain free too.
Kelly How did everything go hun? I've been thinking of you all morning
Willow I'm not sure when or if I'll be seeing Dr S again I asked him that same question last week and he said he wasn't sure when he wanted to see me so I just don't know. I know this guy has been great for a few of you but tbh I'm just not sure and DH has again gone off the idea of me seeing him and I think I'm just going to wait and see my Ob up here. I'm still all over the place and I just don't know. I know that doesn't make a lot of sense but I guess I'll just see how I'm feeling in a few weeks
We are supposed to be going away tomorrow for Easter just the 3 of us so it should be ok. Although I'm not too keen to be going in this rainy weather. We are going to the same place we go to at Christmas time but we are going to be staying in th IL's onsite van so atleast we have all the comforts of home +more lol ie shower/toilet kitchen and the +more bit a dishwasher lol.
Just got home and all went really well, actually it went better than I expected. Bub measuered 6 wks 2 days (one day ahead what I thought, which is incredible as I usually measure behind my dates).. so my new due date is 22 November!! I'm praying this is a really good sign of things to come and am starting to feel like this one might actually stick. So will try and be a bit more positive... I think. Oh god, it's hard. There was a nice strong heart beat.. 118bpm, which is good (but I had that last time so still can't relax yet). The sonographer was brilliant too, although I had to have an internal scan... she explained everything and even knew I had a c/s and that I O'd out of the left ovary!!! Couldn't get in for my next scan until 2 weeks time, so it's going to be a horrible two weeks... but by then I'll know for sure!! So just need to get through the next two weeks. It's so hard.
I'm exhausted... need to rest up and process all this. Thankfully DS is at daycare today!! Hope everyone is well and thinking of you too Mako!!
Kelly That is wonderful news hun. I hope the next 2 weeks go by really fast for you
Well we've had a change of plan and we have now decided to stay home for Easter which deep down I'm so happy about. I haven't even done any shopping for the Easter Bunny or even started to pack or wash our clothes to take away Anyway I can now relax a little and we can enjoy a weekend at home doing nothing if that's what we decide we want to do
Mako - That actually makes total sense re Dr S. I'm just sorry you haven't found him to be as good as I did I think you need to regroup before you make any decisions about that sort of stuff anyway. You'll know what to do in time Glad you're staying home for easter. I think a quiet weekend at home will do you the world of good.
Kelly - Woot! Congrats on a great scan. Have my fingers crossed it's the start of great things to come
Well what an afternoon - the door handle on D's door is a bit dodgy. This afternoon I was in there settling him for a sleep after we got home from school and the handle fell off and D and I were stuck in there with the other two kids out in the house on their own After 20 mins of calling out to V and D screaming every time I called out to her she finally found us. I tried to get her to fix the handle from her side but she couldn't do it. Told her to get the phone and tried to instruct her how to call the ILs through the door but the poor little thing was in such a state she couldn't do it. She kept crying "oh mummy, you'll be stuck in there forever and I'll never see you again. I can't get you out mummy, I can't get you out!" and sobbing her poor heart out. After about 10 mins of this and just as I started to feel a HUGE panic attack creep up on me, I remember the window! D's room is at the front of the house so I just broke the screen and climbed out and DD let me in through the front door. The poor thing, she was so shaken up!
I'm supposed to be going to the gym very soon but might give it a miss. Needless to say D has not had a second sleep so will probably be feral this evening
Hi everyone else sorry, no more time for persies, I am using what little net time I have to work out how on earth we are going to pay $4000 for root canal work that DH needs, eeeeek!!
Mako, glad your staying home for easter if that makes you happier! Dont worry, I only just did easter shopping today! Otherwise I would have forgot lol
Willow, OMG I want to laugh but I wont, man that would have sucked! Bet youll be right on Dh to fix that handle huh.
Stellans 1st birthday today Im so sad! Im not ready for him to be a big boy yet and OMG its made my baby fever 1000% worse than it was. I picked him up early from daycare after spending 4hrs finishing an assignment then we drove into the city to drop it off, then went shopping afterwards for new shoes (for him) and easter eggs. His favourite meal, spaghetti bolognaise for dinner tonight then choc mud cake for dessert. Plus a sponge cake to take to their fave daycare tomorrow to celebrate his birthday. He hasnt even opened his pressies yet!
Mako - hope you have a good Easter! Thinking of you hon, and your little one who flew away, god I hope things go well for you soon xoxo
Bun - my DH got a similar quote, and seriously looked into a wee trip to Thailand, half the price of dental work here, just a thought.
Willow - for me personally, I would see her comments as red flags, especially if you are considering DD sleeping over there etc. I get the feeling as this lady is becoming more comfortable with you, she is starting to let these comments out. I think there's no reason to make a big song a dance over it, but I would keep things polite, if not slightly cooled - if she hits you with another "pearler" just let her know it's not your style and never will be. Hopefully she will hold back and you can find some common ground. I hate this sort of stuff! Good luck!
Kelly - so glad to here 'so far so good' now back to De-nile you go!!! Yah !!
Laney - ditto as per Kelly - great news!
Jaynie and Lisa - how are you girls, let us know when you come up for air!
Freya - holy cow girl, you must SUFFER every month at O time, with those eggies screamin for attention - how are you going to hold back the floodgates! My MIL is besotted with my boy Flynn, and she said today, you MUST have 3 more because they are SO beautiful not until I get a live in nanny I told her!! Mind you she had 6, but lived in countries where nannies/cooks/maids were all commonplace!
Spring - how you doing hon?
Well - today was fun NOT - had to take Remy for her 18 month shots and Flynn for his 4 month ones - by myself - ugh, no more needs to be said about how fun that was. Poor babies! Tomorrow I will see the health nurse and ask her about the counsellor for me. See how I go. Too tired to think atm, so will sign off and say hi to everyone else!
I dont wanna hold back the floodgates Lee but Dh is not keen at all lol Its so hard because I always wanted 4, that was my life plan. We dont have any real reason not to have 4. He is just under the impression (thanks MIL) that he doesnt have the capacity to parent 4 kids. Stellan is just so beautiful and life is a little easier now they are all over 12mths that I could imagine doing it again. Def would never have had 4 as close as the first 3 are. Everyone would think we are trying for a girl and while that would be an awesome way to round out our family; Stellan has taught me that deep down I really do not care what I have and that no matter what disappointment I might feel initially with another boy will not last longer than the few seconds before he is born
Lee - Good luck with the health nurse.. hope she gets you onto a good councellor. Hugs.
Freya - Hope Stellan had a wonderful 1st birthday and my god.. you're a brave women. Two kiddies is definitely our limit but mainly because I just can't go through all this uncertainty and loss again.. it's killing me!!!
Willow - OMG.. what a drama! Lucky you were able to get out the window! Scary.
Well ladies.. I didn't sleep very well last night and am already obsessing and stressing about this bub... it's crazy. I thought yesterday's scan being so good would have made me feel a bit better but in all honesty, it's making me feel worse!! How is that possible. DH doesn't get it. But I think now that I've seen that everything is going as good as it possibly can go and it's been the best first scan we've ever had, I'm even more nervous and almost feel the 'pressure' of it all a hell of a lot more. I know I can't do anything to change the outcome but having everything look so good so far it's making me nervous! I just don't want to get my hopes up and can't stay in De-Nile any longer (not that I ever really got there... I'm too bored and lonely most of the time and have nothing to keep me distracted). Anyway I can't really describe these feelings but I don't think I'm coping too well with it. I just want to curl up in bed and let the next two weeks go by. It's so weird, I should be feeling really good and really positive.. why can't I enjoy this. It's so hard. Sorry guys, it's going to be a tough two weeks for me I think.
Ooohhhh and Jayne.... don't you only have one more sleep till the big holiday???? I think I recal that you were going on Friday!! How exciting. I hope you all have an amazing time. Don't worry about the flights, you'll get through them and the girls will be so excited!!! Ooohhhh, I'm so jealous, would absolutely love a holiday right now!
Take care and can't wait to hear all about it. Don't forget that we'll be back over in Perth in May so we'll have to have another catch up!
Well.........I think about that too Kelly. But my desire far outweighs the fear at this stage. Stellan was actually ridiculously easy to conceive, so much so that he surprised us because we werent actually trying yet, just off bcp and waiting to move so we could see a FS about clomid again (I have hormonal issues with sustaining a preg long enough to get past 12wks, so Ive had quite a few known losses and probably some unknown ones too). Then his dates were out by 10 days at my 7wk scan and there wasnt a heartbeat, they practically told me to expect a d&c in the next week. I booked a second scan for 2wks time and cried every single day of that wait. Had the second scan and voila a heartbeat but still measuring way behind. I knew my dates were pretty spot on so I was worried, really worried. But he stuck in there and was measuring to my original dates by 20wks and born bang on his due date!
We got extremely lucky with him. I still dont know how or why. That does play on my mind a bit with the wanting of #4..........do I want to possibly lose the luck and have to go through all the heartbreak again? It really sucks as you all know *sigh*
Hi all. Hopefully I will finally have time to get some personals done before the boy wakes up and the girl starts hassling me to do something with her! So far they have both been really good today - we are having a rare day at home and I have actually gotten a lot done!
Kelly - sounds like the next couple of weeks will be really hard for you. It is so hard to make yourself think good thoughts but I am sure it will be ok this time, and I am thinking of you.
Freya - happy first birthday to Stellan! That does seem to have gone way too quickly though. I can understand you feeling clucky - I know I want three or four and can imagine feeling sad at the thought of no more if DH decided three was enough. Give it some time and thought - you are still so young. Maybe DH will come around in time!
mako - how are you going love? I hope you have a relaxing Easter at home with your family. I think you need some time to process things, it is all too much to think about right now. I remember swearing after my second m/c that I would never ever try again, it just hurt too much to lose my babies, but in time I was really to go again. It is a shame that Dr S doesn't sound like he has been as helpful as you would have hoped. Has he arranged for you to have all the tests done again? Or do you just want to give it a break for a while?
Willow - I agree with the others re your friend. I would make some small remark making it clear that you don't like what she is saying, but without sounding too harsh and see if she gets the hint. Something like what Jayne suggested sounds good.
Janie - I think $4k sounds like way too much too! It is the worst case scenario cost, so hopefully it will be less. I have a page long quote of the items and how much each will cost and it compares with another dentist's costs that I have enquired about. I just can't believe how much it is! And our health fund hardly covers any of it, so I am not impressed! How are you going at home with your new little boy? You must be so stoked to have him home.
Woohoo to all those on the weight loss, wow. I really don't see how you have 25kg to lose Spring, you look great in all the pics I have seen of you. And Jayne, I don't see how you had that much to lose either! And Deb, getting back to the weight you were when you got married is one huge goal - I don't think I will ever get back there!
Lee - hmmm, Thailand sounds like a great idea! I may have to suggest that to DH! I hope you manage to get the details of a good counsellor. I think you need to find the right one for you which can sometimes be hard, so I hope you can find someone that you 'gel' with and that you think will be helpful.
Laney - great news! Sorry I didn't comment earlier, was in a bit of a rush. I hope the cyst doesn't cause any harm.
Jayne - have a great trip!!
Hi to everyone else.
we are doing really well, just v busy at the moment. Josh is still a wonderful baby, a little unsettled at night but not too bad for a newborn. DD has been pretty good lately too. We have decided to head off to Perth to stay with my parents next week as DH will be away for work for three weeks and I was dreading all that time on my own. So at the last minute I have decided to go away. The trip will be a nightmare though - I swore I would never do it alone again when I only had DD and now here I am attempting the trip on my own with a toddler and a newborn?? I must be totally insane! It would be easy if we lived in the city and it was just a flight, but it is a three hour (at least) drive to melb from here and then I have a four hour flight. Wish me luck, I am going to need it!!
