Sweety, there's not many mums out there who can say they've never done that. I've sworn at DS once, I felt so awful and ashamed afterwards, but sleep deprivation is an awful, awful thing to go through. for you, you're a fantastic mum and don't ever forget it!

Oh Sterla - Hugs babe. Been there are done that!
DD seems to wake at 1 am evey night now and will not for the life of me go back to sleep in her cot. So I have been sleeping in the spare room in spare bed with her - its the only way we both get back to sleep.
Hugs babe abd know you are not alone!

Aww :hugs: hun i could have written almost this exact same thing a few days ago.
Both my girls are teething and DD2 has been a nightmare to get to sleep, i have been trying to get her to sleep in our room as i want her used to sleeping in a quiet room.
So DD1 follows me everywhere, SISTER, ZARA... MUM, MUM, MUM then right as i finally get DD2 to sleeo after 45min DD1 comes in SCREAMING and LAUGHING MUM, MUM, MUM and pats DD1 on the head...

I LOST IT. plopped DD2 on the bed, grabbed DD1 and SCREAMED at her, get out, get out, get out... stormed her to the lunge forced her into the corner of the couch and yelled again not to move until i tell her.
I was so ashamed of myself, i went and sat with DD2 until i got her to sleep and then went out and cuddled DD1 for about 15min while we both sobbed.. i have NEVER done anything like that before and highly doubt i will again... i was so so upset.
Although DD1 didn't move from that couch until i come got her... shame she doesn't listen so well all the time.

Please don't be too hard on yourself, even the most perfect of people will do it at some stage, hope your DS is better soon and your back to getting some sleep.

's I've had a few moments like that and no doubt there'll be many more. It does make you feel awful, but your DS wont remember, let alone be scarred by it.
Be kind to yourself, sleep deprivation does horrible things to the best of us. You are not a bad mummy, a "bad mummy" wouldn't care.

As a parent to TWO terrible sleepers who both like to be held, I have definitely been there.

DH and I play tag team, when one of us has reached that point the other will come in and take over, until we calm down or bubs is asleep. It is frustration and sleep deprivation.

I can fully understand what leads some people to become abusive towards their children, I don't condone it, but I certainly understand the impulse - that is something I honestly never really 'got' until after I became a mother myself.

Well, I'm proud of what you did. I'm proud of me for screaming at DS when he doesn't sleep. Why am I proud? Because all I did was scream. I was brought up with physical punishment and for me to just shout and not hurt my son; that's an achievement. When a person is sleep deprived they often lose their temper and just shouting is wonderful. You can apologise for it and explain why it happened, but you still kept some self-control. Well done.

Big hugs honey. Sleep deprivation is torture and I too have raised my voice at DD2 and told her to go to sleep.

I agree with everyone else that we have all been there. But whenever I have done it, I apologise to DS once I have calmed down and explain to him why I was upset and what I could have done differently. I want him to understand that I am just human, motivated by emotion, and can't be perfect. And I tell him that every when I am angry I still love him.
Big hugs to you. Sleep deprivation is such a killer and really can bring you to the edge. xo
