After thinking our 4 months old son had reflux we have now found out that he just has really bad wind which is interfering with his ability to go to sleep. He is on lactose free milk and has Infacol drops in each bottle. I am also trying some tummy massage & bicycling legs. Does anybody else has ideas how to help him? Ta!
my girl does insane whoppa farts the often wake her up. DH goes to work at 5am and when she stirs i drag her into bed with me and she often just spends the next few hours sleeping inbetween fart sessions. she no longer cries in pain from them but they do obviously cause her discomfort.
we did infacol until about a month ago. helped her bring up the wind. but havent used it in a month. she manages a good burb after feeds without it. and i do sit her up and make sure she has that god burb, based on the theory that if we get the wind out at the top end less will need to come out the bottom (whether that is true or not i dont know).
ummm...we play 'run run' every nappy change..which is cycling her legs and folding her in half (toes touch her nose) which she loves and we get a nice big fart out about 80÷ of the time.
if your little one is in pain from it. you can put them on their tummy, across your lap or along your arm and gently rub/pat back. or if its real bad warm up a towel and wrap it tightly around bubs tummy and curl them around it (please do this one safely and keep close eye on heat and possible burns risk etc!!). a nice warm bath can also do wonders as the warmth helps so does the freedome to move and 'loosen' the wind themselves.
