oh dear! I have no idea sorry, I hope someone can help.
sorry cant help you but once a guy on my DH's old boat ( used to be in the Navy) washed all the boy's overall in detol the smell stayed there for ages.LOL He mustn't have done the washing at home but the boy weren't to happy...
On the upside you know the nappy has no germs
I would be rinsing that nappy 100 times over. Throw it in with the rest of your MCN's for a good wash too. Not sure if it would need a strip wash, but if it makes you feel better ...
ooooh dear Anna.... not the green kids....
is he secretly trying to sabotage the return of the mcn in ur household???
i dont know professional advice but i would be doing a wash by itself twice before putting it in with the others... and lotsa sunlight
Gill i think he is trying to ruin our return to MCN! cheeky boy!
Anyway, update on the nappy is it reaks of detol so i have washed it on its own twice and will let the sunshine on it today..
thanks for your replies ladies.have a great day
sorry girls but what is mcn?
Trying to think????
LOL, Sorry, i read the title and had a giggle! The things men do! Very cute!![]()
Polly , it means MODERN CLOTH NAPPIES .
i would just rinse in cold water and sun dry it ...hows the nappy now ??
I think it would be ok.... you can use detol as a mouth wash, so I think the nappy would be fine. Maybe use a liner for a couple of wears??
oh gosh LOL. Men!
I spose the good news is that you can use detol in the wash - so shouldn't be too bad. Just getting the smell out will probably be hard! I hope it wasn't straight detol was it? hehe.
I personally wouldn't be too fussed Anna - but then I like the smell of Dettol! Was it diluted? And was it there for long?
Apart from if you don't like the smell, the main problem would be if something in the dettol eroded the elastic or PUL...but I think it'd have to soak for ages for that to happen. Another problem could be build up, but since Dettol isn't really a soap, it's a disinfectant, I can't see what would build up.
So...if the Nelle prognosis is to be believed, your nappy should be fine! Can't guarantee the same for your nose if you don't like Dettol smell though!![]()
lol- What was your DH's rationale behind the soaking?men!
Hope it is ok.
lol typical male!![]()
Well ladies yo will be very happy to know that the nappy survived! it only smells of the sunshine now..
it must have been very diluted and it was only soaking for about 1/2 hour..
DH has gone back to just leaving it for me to do, hehehe he will be shown a thing or two over the holdiays !
Nelle - thanks for your prognosis.. and the correct spelling of dettol! I knew it did not look right as detol!
I still reckon men do these things deliberately so that they can get out of doing horrible jobs. If they do it bad enough, they know we won't let them do it again!
Definitely call his bluff and teach him how to do it properly! LOL.
LOL, you gotta love em!!!
it will be fine - probably better for the nappy than most detergents!
Im still laughing
No worries Anna, and you can always rely on me for spelling.Haha.
I'd actually consider a Dettol wash if I thought a nappy was particularly germy for some reason or another. Reckon you could do a lot worse than Dettol. From what I've heard, men and MIL's can definitely do a lot worse than Dettol, so consider yourself blessed!![]()
