I hear your frustration - plus all that laundry is annoying!!
All my 3 girls have become dry at night at different ages. In fact, my almost 8 yr old is more like to wet the bed still than her younger sisters. Being dry at night is not a concious skill that can be learnt. It's a physiological maturity plus an awareness in the sleep issue. My oldest is such a heavy sleeper in the first 5 hrs that she has no idea she's wet the bed, whereas my middle girl will always wake up and go to the toilet in the night if she needs too. They are just different and mature at different rates with different skills.
I personally love brolly sheets and have them on all the kids beds at all times as I then can guarantee in the event of vomit or nosebleeds, my nice mattresses will remain sanitary!! But for bed wetting, they are so easy. Just whip it off, in the wash with wet pjs, new one on the bed, clean pjs and child is asleep again. Very easy.
