My diet is yoghurt, white bread and some weak tea. I am badly deprived on Proteins as I still can't eat meat.
thinking about to drink protein shakes but no idea from where i get these and which one are good ones.I am starving all day and don't want to eat bread any more
piling bad carbs would give me nothing but just the useless weight gain.
You can find them in the supermarket, or at the chemist. You might want to talk to the pharmacist about your best options.
Hope you're feeling better soon
Most, if not all, protein shakes are not suitable in pregnancy... Go and have a chat to your GP or go to a health food store and ask a qualified naturopath or pharmacist. They should be able to direct you into the right direction.
Oh and yoghurt is full of protein :-) So is all dairy food so you are actually getting protein :-)
Both the protein shakes I use are unsuitable for pregnant women and children.
Can you stomach natural yogurt? It has protein especially the liquid at the top so be sure to stir it into the yogurt. The sugary ones - not so good. Nute? I might be wrong but I think nuts have protein in them?
They're not exactly protein shakes, but Sustagen or Proform powders are available from the chemist (and in a couple of different flavours, I like just the plain vanilla one), and if I were you, I would talk to the pharmacist about having one of those. My mum got me proform while I was pg, as I was hungry too (and couldn't eat much). You can also sprinkle them on your ice cream . Take care.
All dairy food is full of protein :-D So you could make thickshakes with banana, yoghurt and milk. Eat peices of cheese if you can stomach it. Boiled eggs are great too. The only problem with dairy is it won't allow you to absorb iron if you are taking suppliments. Well within two hours of ingesting dairy anyway.
oooo I am so touched, hugs to you all lovely ladies.taking sustagen seems a very wonderful idea too, as at this stage still chicken, meat and eggs are standing Miles away from me.I know like my last pregnancy I would be able to eat properly by 16th week.
Iron is already a big issue its already v low and my first trimester made it even worse I do take care and take my iron pills after two to three hours consuming dairy)
hugs to you all
I meant to say in my above post, but forgot ( ), both the sustagen and proform have a number of vitamins and minerals, including iron and folate, so check with the pharmacist that you don't overdo any recommended dosages. :hugs:
