I just had mine done a couple of weeks ago. The hairdresser used a vegetable based one which she said is more gentle and she didn't put it right to my scalp. (Since I had my natural colour put in to cover old foils it didn't matter.)
It was great but after a few washes it is fading already!!!! She did warn me that can happen in pg. #-o
