    Fainting

I fainted twice at my first pregnancy. At about 6 weeks and then in the last trimester. Hubby is scared that I will faint with this one.... I think cos I was in a hot, warm area that I fainted.

    Hi Caz

There are many things that can cause you to faint, and heat is one of them. In early pregnancy your blood vessels enlarge to allow room for the extra blood your body is going to produce, unfortunately, sometimes, your blood vessels expand a little too fast making it difficult for enough blood to flow to your brain. This can cause toy to faint, especially if you put more stress on the system. (standing quickly will often do it). Another problem that will contribute to fainting is morning sickness. The act of vomiting removes nutrients from your body and because you do not feel able to eat much this compounds the problem. Also morning sickness (vomiting) causes a reduction in the fluids in your body and this makes it more difficult for your heart to pump blood to your brain.

Now just because you fainted with your first pregnancy does not mean that the same thing will happen this time. Just remember to make sure that you drink plenty of fluids and have a good well balanced diet.
    Hope this helps.
