This is really good tips!![]()
Hi just wanted to share this with anyone about to or on Maxalon as its taken a lot of trial and error to work this out. I've seen a few people try it for a short time and find it didn't work but I wanted to share incase it helps someone else.
My nausea is constant with moderate vomiting after meals if I am on nothing at all. I realsie that everyone is different and more sever cases may not find any help with maxalon.
Tips:
- Dont get the cheaper brand it does not work as well - I was vomiting on it and it did nothing to help me at all.
- It takes 2 tablets (16 hrs) before I find it works well.
- Within 20min of each tablet I start to get my brain back.
- Tablets must be taken on the 8 hr mark, half and hour later and I'm back to square one.
- To get my times more normal I moved each tablet closer by 30min (so 7 1/2 hrs) till I could manage the times.
- Keep an alarm near the tablets and avoid forgetting it.
- Dont dispare, this nausea is hard to deal with and ruins a happy moment as you are just trying to survive.
As mentioned this is my experience and others will differ, I still feel tired all the time and have to watch what I eat carefully. I can't eat very processed foods or fats and creams. But this has meant I can keep the food down even though it is uncomfortable, which is better for baby. You might still feel nausea at times but it is better than without.
If you want to talk please message me. I know I desperatly wanted this baby but now I find myself questioning everything as it really is harder than I had anticipated.
Good luck to all of us,
Di

i tired taking it.. was awful made me soooo tired...
Hope works for others!
Since the last post I was bumped up to taking the Zofran as the Maxalon didn't help when my HCG levels were at their peak. It worked really well and I had 4 days of break.
On a hunch I tried to go medicine free yesterday (12w2d) just to see how I was progressing. To my delight I was more able to function than I had expected. The persistent nausea was not there and even though I threw up 3 times I was able to bounce back much quicker. So instead of feeling awful for 2-3 hrs then being ill and taking another 2-3 hrs to recover it was all over in 1. Sounds silly but that I can cope with it, its unpleasant but quick.
I am trying again today without the meds, though I have them there as a backup should I get worse. With luck I should be on the mend soon enough.

Maxolon was a godsend when I was pg and had m/s, it was the only thing that would stop me throwing up even though i still felt a bit sick but I was happy to actually keep food down![]()
