    I hate the first trimester

I had forgotten how much I hate the first trimester. The constant worry that something is going to go wrong, the running to the toilet checking for bleeding, and all the other fears etc.

Anyway, I'm trying to relax and just enjoy this pregnancy and have done fairly well so far. How do u avoid stressing

No advice here mate! I was exactly the same, a complete basket case!
You're almost half way through the first trimester now. Pretty soon you'll be seeing your healthy little bub on your first ultrasound.

    I hear you!!

I hated the first trimester and I'm a first time mum! I haven't forgotten any of it like people said I would and I still sit here today thinking "People go back for seconds and thirds of this??" lol

I dont have any advice on the "avoid stressing" because I did it! I'd just try and take each day as it comes and everytime I checked for blood I'd think 'Phew Still going okay in there' and tried to think "as long as Im not bleeding its all okay". Easier said then done though.

By the way... LUV the name Cupcake! Thats what DH and I call our bubs!

For some reason I just assume everything is OK, because I have no reason to think otherwise? I don't check for blood... is that weird? The only real reason I don't tell people I am pregnant earlier is because it is expected that you keep it to yourself for 3 months.
I guess I sort of figure that if something goes wrong there isn't a lot I can do except go to the dr if/when it does. There is no point worrying constantly about whether it will happen, I have a life that needs to continue irrelevant of what bubs is doing in there for the first 12 weeks. It probably helps that both pregnancies so far have been completely worry free (except for unnecessary worry created by medical professionals )
I do hate the first trimester though. I hate feeling so tired and hungry. I hate waiting to look pregnant and be excited about the pregnancy with other people. To me it is just the long boring stage of the pregnancy.

    waiting

I guess it is a big waiting game...I was wondering though I have have breast soreness for the first 4 weeks and just today they aren't really sore anymore...is this ok? I know everyone is different in pregnancy...just wondering what others have felt...any sore stretchy tummy feelings? thanks!

Jean, my breasts didn't hurt in the same way through my entire pregnancy. They were really REALLY tender and my nipples fely like they were burning very early with DS1, but that didn't last more than a few weeks. In fact, this time around they haven't been sore at all.
I didn't get tummy stretching type pains until quite late with my first pg, but this third time they are quite obvious already.
    And yes, everyone is different.

I don't think I dropped the worry until about 28 or 30 weeks. I just couldn't let it go. What did get me through it, though, was remembering that the majority of pregnancies are OK. I do have reason to believe things might go wrong, but that really helped me. And I had an amazing GP who is incredibly supportive.

The sickness though, I forgot that within 2 days! I had one last farewell spew at 14 weeks, then started to feel great again.

To me its a case of, if you have been looking after yourself and have done everything you need to do....what more can you do??

I know this is really hard especially if you've had complications previously. I was the same with this pregnancy, I think I've finally relaxed now after my NT scan and seeing bubba has really confirmed for me that so far everythings ok. But I think its natural for some people to stress about this sort of thing and theres not much you can do except remember stressing doesn't achieve anything good.

Hope you get to your 'comfortable place' soon dahl

Right now what i hate about the 1st Trimester is just feeling so freaking tired. I don't remember feeling this tired with DD, but then i didn't have a toddler to run after then either. The nausea is only just starting to show itself for me but the heartburn has already started. I do remember with DD feeling anxious till i finally got to see her HB at the 12w scan, i'm not so worried this time around.

I totally agree, this is my first pregnancy and I can't believe how tired I am. I feel like I need a nap at about 1pm every day, too bad I'm at work.

My girlfriend, who is not nor has even been pregnant, said to me the other day, "Enjoy your first trimester, it will go so quickly," and I thought THANK GOODNESS! The worry, the nausea, the tiredness - I can't wait for the second trimester, everyone tells me it is fantastic.
