Good news, Em! FWIW, I had spotting throughout my pregnancy. Made me a nervous wreck but when the time was right to hear a heartbeat, I hired myself a doppler. I know the dangers of using it, but each time I had spotting, I'd put it on my belly and all that horrible anxiety went away and I could just relax again. I figured my constant anxiety was worse than the occassional use of a doppler!

Sending you lots of sticky vibes

No morning sickness today had me worried but went and had u/s with ob and yep growing nicely and a good HB- obviously got none of the measurements the ob doesn't do that. But yay I got a visual! But she wanted to do internal after the normal u/s and talk about feeling of being violated- i was choking back the tears and wishing DH was there! She made me strip in front of her (not leave the room like the u/s technicians do), ok so maybe she does this everyday but I don't! I find it very invasive and hard to deal with (especially since being raped in the past) so I did not cope well today. And yes I know I will have to be more exposed when giving birth but thats different IMO. Have an appt with the propper U/s people next friday so that will be better. Can't wait til Dh gets home I need a hug now.

Oh Em! i am sorry that you had to go through that. I would also find that really confronting. I know that this is a vulnerable time for you, but remember that this is your body, your baby and you can say no, you can say, i would prefer some privacy etc. i know that it is really hard, because as you said they do this everyday; unfortunately it is always up to the parents to insist on being treated well which is a shame

BUT! on to much happier news...you are growing a beautiful healthy bubba!!! so so happy for you!!!!

that's great news about the u/s

but about the ob. as cassius said, remember that you can ask for privacy etc. i know it's full on the first time something happens, but if you know what could happen, now you can be prepared to ask for what you want.

hope you get some great hugs from your DH later

That is wonderful news Em. It must have been so wonderful to see that little HB. Sending your little bubba some strong growing vibes. That must have been an awful experience with the second u/s. I agree that labour is something totally different. Stay strong hun. Big hugs to you xxxxxx

    Oh Em

It is wonderful news about bubba's HB getting stronger :0

About the other, aww hun that isn't right, I have had 5 cervical scans so far 3 in my OB's office and 1 at a US clininc the other at the WCH. Each time I got changed into a gown in a separate private bathroom, I was given a towel and told how to lie at the end of the bed. In my OB's office she pulled the curtain around and gave me a towel. And I have to say she is a lot better at it then the WCH or the US clinic, I found with both of those I had horrible cramping afterwards, but with my OB only minor cramping one of the times. I so understand how invasive it feels and something that really needs to be done completely respectfully. And with your background even more so

Do you know if they will be monitoring your cevix length at all throughout pregnancy, you could perhaps get them done through a clinic rather than your OB as they will have different protocols? I hope you can avoid the need for anymore or at least the minimum, I have plenty of the Internals to go, but after 5 already I am prepared for it much more. Take care hun and I hope you don't have an experience like that again xxoo
